Chicago Bears REPORT: Yannick Ngakoue Wants $8-10 Million Contract + WILD Chase Claypool Rumors

Chicago Bears rumors come after the conclusion of Bears Mandatory Minicamp. Chat Sports host Harrison Graham discusses the latest on NFL Free Agent Yannick Ngakoue and whether or not the Bears will sign him before training camp. Ngakoue signed NFL Super Agent Drew Rosenhaus, who has a good working relationship with the Bears. According to Chicago Bears reporter Brad Biggs, Ngakoue is seeking $8-10 million per year on a new contract. Ngakoue previously stated that he wants a multi-year contract, but it’s unclear if Bears GM Ryan Poles is willing to sign him to a 2+ year deal. Also, Chase Claypool rumors are getting wild as Mark Silverman aka “Silvy” of Waddle & Silvy on ESPN 1000 in Chicago reports that Claypool is “not very self motivated” according to multiple sources “in the Bears building”. Claypool missed the final 2 weeks of Bears OTAs and minicamp with “minor” issues according to head coach Matt Eberflus. Bears QB Justin Fields told reporters during OTAs that Claypool has improved a ton and his attitude has been much better than last season. Should we be concerned about Claypool heading into 2023 Bears Training Camp?

  1. With Yannick I’m done hoping for him. He is not coming to Chicago so please let’s stop talking about him. I wish he would but he’s not. 2 with Claypool if it’s true about his motivation then I just feel sad for him. It’s sad to see a player with such potential waste it. I mean honestly if the NFL can’t get you to work hard than very little will be able to. If it’s true. Hopefully he turns it around and gets his mind right. If that is true

  2. I would sign Yannick for a 2 year deal at 8-10 mil a year in a heart beat. The bears have almost no d-line pass rush. He is an 8-11 sack a year guy. To get that kind of pass rush for 8 mil a year is exactly what the Bears need.

  3. If Yannick only wants 8-10mill, DO IT! I wouldn't be opposed to a 2yr 15mill + incentives. Still leaves room to bring in another veteran player and extend Kmet or Johnson. I think they'll let Johnson test the FA market and match or pass on it next yr

  4. I say give him a chance to get 100% healthy. Rightnow is the time for him to do that as he continues studying the playbook. I feel he's got a lot to prove and should be given the opportunity to do so. As long as he's ready to go by July 26th

  5. I just hope Claypool can stay healthy so I can have an opinion on him.
If he keeps on suffering injuies, he is a waste on the roster.
    Let's go Claypool!
    Let's go Bears!
    FJB!

  6. I don’t believe any of the rumors on claypool. They say anything to make a story in the media. Remember they said kmet was upset with fields and they were beefin? Ya total bs. Harrison is ur girl mad u did a vid on vacation? With yannick he can def help out on pass rushing downs. We got Greene and gipson who are decent against the run. He said he wants to go to a contender on a multi year deal. 1. I doubt he gets a multi year deal he would of gotten one already. 2.contenders are not interested in multi year deals at this time of the offseason or they don’t have the money like that. 3. He’d be better off signing a one year deal showing out on an up n coming team and gettin paid next year from the bears or another team. Those are jus my opinons and some facts

  7. And also with the claypool thing poles isn’t trippin bout this stuff. He said in his end of the year presser he understands this offense being hard to learn and injuries to him and fields made it hard to shine last year. He’s not gonna bat an eye at it and he’s invested in making this work

  8. Everyone should be happy that Chase didn’t perform up to the level of the 32nd pick last year. Because, then the Bears probably wouldn’t have ended up with the #1 Pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. Leave him alone and give him a year to show us who he really is.

  9. That Claypool trade has been a disaster from the minutes it happened. Poles gave up what turned out to be the last pick in the 1st rd!! And he made the trade during tank mode while setting up to build through the draft. He had an embarrassing selfish baby tantrum on the sidelines during his first handful of unproductive games lol. Now it’s a “prove-it” year and he’s already in the negative rumor mill, even tho we should take rumors with a grain of salt. But if it’s a lil bit of truth then don’t expect much from Chase besides missing more games due to injuries 🤷🏻‍♂️

  10. Why is nobody talkin about Michael Ojemudia Bears cornerback? Dudes are proven Pro, King Kong hitter, record-setting season forced fumbles, excellent In coverage, AND I SAY HE STARTS!!!

  11. In his first interview when he revived in Chicago when asked about how he felt about playing that style in Florida I.. wnd Those pretty he lo same exact question, he’s 6’5 311LBS as a rookie the kid is a fully grown man imagine he puts the work in to be the best he can be slims down to like 280-285 and add straight strength and speed who gone stop him? And Pickens was the #1 DL in the country in the same year Carter was both going to college 9:17

  12. People forget one of the reasons we "overpaid" for claypool was that green bay was in the hunt as well. We had one receiver last year and they were trying to give fields another weapon mid season.

  13. The Ngakoue thing is getting SUPER old. We were never going to sign him, it was never an option to sign him, and this channel, more than any other Bears channel pushes that narrative so damn hard. He's not a HITS principle guy. He sacrifices coverage and containment over individual stats. His own coaches in Indy expressed frustration over that. LET THE YANNICK NGAKOUE NARRATIVE GO. IT NEEDS TO END.

  14. Same with the damn Claypool rumors. Before Claypool, it was JJ. Quit being the lemming reporters and actually look into things and use facts instead of narratives.
    From Sports Mockery:

Former Bears scout Greg Gabriel decided to set the record straight on Windy City Gridiron, revealing some details from his own sources.

One of them being the team’s current GM.

I DON’T USUALLY LIKE TO TALK ABOUT PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS I HAVE WITH PEOPLE IN THE LEAGUE, BUT IN THIS CASE, I FEEL I NEED TO. EARLIER THIS SPRING, I HAD A LONG CONVERSATION WITH RYAN POLES. WE TALKED ABOUT SEVERAL THINGS, INCLUDING FREE AGENCY, THE DRAFT, WHAT HE FELT THE TEAM NEEDED, AND OF COURSE THE CHASE CLAYPOOL TRADE.

POLES TOLD ME HE REALIZED THAT MANY FANS AND MEDIA WERE UNHAPPY WITH THE TRADE BECAUSE HE HAD TO GIVE UP WHAT TURNED OUT TO BE THE 32ND PICK. HE ALSO SAID THAT THE RESULTS OF THE TRADE HAVE NOT BEEN SEEN YET AND THAT HE FULLY EXPECTS CLAYPOOL TO HAVE A BIG YEAR. HE ADDED, “IF I HAD THE CHANCE TO DO THE TRADE ALL OVER, IT WOULD TAKE ME ABOUT FIVE SECONDS TO SAY YES.”

DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A GENERAL MANAGER WITH CONTROL OVER THE 53-MAN ROSTER BEING DISGRUNTLED WITH CHASE CLAYPOOL? HARDLY!
