  1. i have a pair of these and you really need a sub woofer to get the most out of them. they sound completely different with the sub and there is a sub out on the edifier. i have them connected to my dj mixer and the sound is great as studio monitors.

  2. Great vid Frank….just want to say if people don't have time to watch a 6 minute vid? They are more busy then me…if that's possible…..LOL.but seriously. Great vid….these speakers are not my cup of tea….and the remote looks like the noisy cricket from Men in Black….🀣🀣. But to those that can use these? Give'er.
All the best all and be safe.

    Cheers

  3. Hi from the UK. I have a pair of Edifier speakers in my mancave/office connected to a Technics linear tracking turntable (via a basic phono preamp) and a Sony cd player. They produce excellent quality sound for the money, perfect for when I’m pounding away on my elliptical trainer ! You are right about the remote though, mine just stopped working after about 6 months but as I rarely used it anyway it’s not big problem for me. Love the videos, hope you have a good selection of Thin Lizzy albums in your collection πŸ˜‰

  4. It would be interesting to see if the manufacturers supply a replacement remote. I did read one review on a Dac a while ago and the manufacturer would not
Supply a replacement remote which went faulty.

  6. Very nice speakers, I love my Edifier speakers. I bought the Edifier R1280T from the local record store for $99.99 USD (cheaper than Amazon) and they are wonderful speakers for the price… sure you can get better speakers but you'll pay way more for them. Awesome review!!

  7. I bought the edifier speakers that looks similar bought do not have Bluetooth because I didn't want it to possibly interfere with my vinyl set up. I connected it to a FX audio phono pre amp (from Amazon) to use with my 1979 Garrard gt25 belt drive turntable . It has been a good set up for my bedroom for over a year.

  8. I've had three sets of various Edifier's over the last five or so years. I still use two of the sets and for the price I've never had any complaints, apart from the cheap remote controls of course!

  9. I have Edifier R1850DB speakers that are about $280 CDN. I've had them for about 18 months and really enjoy them. I run them in my home office for my stereo turntable/CD setup. You can connect a sub to these so they work quite well as midrange/highs speaker. Thanks for your review!!

  10. These are great, and go as low as $100 USD (got mine for 120) but even at 200 CAD (150USD) it's a really great deal.

Edit: Full agreement on the remote btw. Though I use it in the same manner (video editing/audio mixing) so it's easy to just leave the remote in my desk drawer.

Edit 2: also had em hooked up to my Technics SL-D2 with my Fosi Audio Box X2 and, again, it sounded great!

  11. Funny, I just bought a pair of these speakers last week after being unsatisfied with another pair of $99 (US) speakers I tried. And like you, I really dig the R1700BTs. For their price, they really are remarkable. I paid $179 US, but still worth it.

  12. What's this about B T

They look pretty neat. That's kinda crazy about the cord for it. Hopefully it dont crap out because of it being a priority type cord. And yeah. Sketchy remote. Hope you can do all the remote stuff on the speakers. Especially switching to the line in.

  13. I have a different model Edifier powered speakers in my back room. They sound fine to me. I added a Bluetooth receiver as mine don't have it. I would definitely buy other speakers from this brand. They are as you said a pretty good value for money.

Agreed the remote is cheap but I can live with it.

  15. Hi Frank!

Considering that your channel is called Channel 33 RPM, it would be logical to review these speakers paired with a turntable. It would be the best way to demonstrate how they sound with vinyl.

Besides, if I can get another video from you, I’ll continue to make suggestions!!! 😁😁😁

  16. Frank, I understand your opinion on the remote control (I agree) but as I am seeing / finding out – it looks like that is the wave of the future many of my recent electronic purchases all have the same similar size remote… 😐

  17. I’ve had a set of those for a couple of years now and really like them. I have since put my Bluetooth turntable away and bought a pair of non powered Klipsch speakers but I still have the Edifiers in the room to stream music from my phone.

  18. I had a pair of these a couple years ago and really liked them, so much that I upgraded to the 1850 model. I absolutely love those. I don’t have a lot of space for my setup so these work extremely well.
