  1. Online with npcs would suck. Unless you used god powers of creation to ensure the bot acts 100% like a real person. I've wondered how I'll populate osrs after I die. So many creeps in osrs nowadays, can't never find no one good to talk too.

  2. Sophisticated enough bots that can play the game in a rudimentary way, but also are programmed to be kind could make games feel a lot more welcoming, holding players in more.
Absolutely there are numerous profit motives for increasing bots in games now that they can pass under the radar as 'humans'

  3. You’ll have to be a complete moron to go bossing with bots. Easy hack: Create a Discord and require your team to join and prove they’re a real human. Also, don’t do risk activities with new people you’ve never met. They could still lure you.

  4. 4:43 yes, absolutely, but only because there's always been people who play MMOs who like it solely for how the games work rather than for the social aspect. There will ALWAYS be people who refuse to touch anything in the genre if it forces them to group with real people, so yeah, of course those people will prefer playing with bots when given the option. They're playing single player games.

  5. imagine making a MMO where the whole theme of the game is AI breaking out of the chains of their creators but core game mechanics become being able to detect if your fellow players are a bot or not XD

  6. I think filling world with chatGPT bots, but marking them clearly, so people know they are not human, is ultimately good thing.
You can make the world feel more alive without deceiving us. If they do it without marking them as NPC, then it is not ok.

  7. i could actually see a good use in this by using bots to make a ton of in game money taken in by players in an mmo to buy out markets and then delete the bots just to fix economies in games that have had them go out of control. still gonna be a problem long term having bots become this hard to tell apart from actual players. hopefully some company somewhere creates some program to differenciate between bots and usual activity on a more intense scale to then sell to social/gaming companies

  8. Honestly if there was a pvp game with a ranked mode filled with bots i couldn't tell were bots and the matches were slightly in my favor for dopamine rushes i would honestly probably enjoy gaming again lmao

  9. i cant wait for full integration, let the AI at all our information, let it at out current known materials, i bet it could make a better alloy that we have ever thought of from really common materials. it is the future that we need to work with.
