  20. I remember meeting him at a book signing in 1997 in Takoma Park, Md. as his publisher was promoting his book of Bible Stories and he was in DC for his AFI honoring ceremony. He was so humble and sweet and lit up and shook my hand when I told him my grandfather was from the same town he was born in. People thought it was strange that he supported both civil rights and gun rights. The fact is he supported the Constitution, that’s all. I was heartbroken when I heard about his diagnoses and subsequent passing. My all time favorite actor, and one of the few who remained faithful to his one and only Lydia.

  23. Heston was not the conundrum that you portray. He was an honest, humble, decent, Christian, and American man, and took all of that seriously. Loving his wife and family, knowing that Jesus did not see the goofy divisions that man imposes (aka racism, sexism, et al), we are one race – the human race, from common beginnings, and fundamentally believing in our Freedom with its firm foundation in and through Christ. Seeing the man with that in mind, he is quite consistent. I share that view with him and many others. God bless Charlton. I look forward to meeting you personally when I too join the LORD in eternity.
