  1. Charlie should REALLLLLY re-watch Skypiea (the MOST Lore/Foreshadow Heavy Arc), via One Pace
He is on record saying he Slept through most of the Skypiea Arc so he’s most definitely missed MANY awesome moments

  2. Just a matter of personal opinion but, i went into watching the anime(One Piece) very open-minded and almost little spoilers(i avoided every related topic on social media).
I was very surprised to see that Skypiea and Fishman Island were so disliked becuase those two arcs were really memorable for me.

I think the Dressrosa filling is just worse(especially since that was the reason i switched to the manga).

Its completely fine to not like something as much as someone else does, that's how the world works.

  3. I'll be honest with you it took me like 2 months to get through 800 episodes and then I took a half a year long break for wano, idk how but I actually enjoyed all of the arc and I don't know how 😭🙏

  4. It has taken me more than 12 years to finish the Fishman Island Arc in the anime, and I haven't really gotten past the start yet. I've only watched 10 episodes yet. 😅
But I have finished it in the manga. But in the manga I´ve been stuck on Punk Hazard for pretty much the same amount of time.😅

  5. One Piece really got bad pacing wise in anime version post timeskip and got worse with peak horrible pacing in Dressrosa (which is where I gave up and switched to manga). I've heard it did good in Whole Cake, great in Wano and even greater currently in Egghead. So you can switch to manga now would be my recommendation or endure for the next 2 arcs (Punk Hazard and Dressrosa) before the pacing becomes watchable again. And Dressrosa is a fan favorite for fans, but man did the anime version not deliver due to the horrible pacing and downplaying Gear 4.

  6. The fights are hard to watch through in that arc of the anime, but the point of it was to show how strong the strawhats have gotten over the time skip. That's why the fights were made to feel so easy I think.

  7. Yeah, this just cements that I'm not interested in Charlie's takes on One Piece anymore. He seems to gloss over the themes and characters of the arcs. His take on Luffy was insulting, but to prove that FI was bad and all he talks about is Hody and Sanji's gag. Not the worldbuilding, not the lore, not the flashbacks, but just Hody and even then he misses the point of his character. No wonder he loved Marineford, it's mostly simply a big fight.

  8. this man did not say dragonball as one of the greatest….have u seen dragonball super? maybe u can play one of the dragonball games the retell the same freaking story over and over and over. how about more different hair colors? or tournaments? in terms of world building, character progression and power balancing…super is doing to the legacy of dragonball like boruto is doing to naruto. even the trash that ultimately bleach became has some new life with its recent new content releases….

  9. Idc what anyone says. Dressrosa is up in my all time favorite arcs. That’s the one I would see my younger brother watching when I was on the computer and all the Cora/Dofi/Law stuff pulled me in enough to want to start watching the whole thing.
