About Charlie:

Charle Berens is a comedian, New York Times Bestselling Author, Emmy-winning journalist, musician and creator of the Manitowoc Minute. The Wisconsin native has been featured on Comedy Central, Fox, CBS, Funny or Die, TBS, Variety, MTV News and more. He creates weekly content for his various social platforms and has amassed over 7.5 million followers.

In 2017, Charlie began hosting his weekly comedic online news show, the Manitowoc Minute. Since then, Charlie’s been creating Midwest-focused sketch comedy videos on his social media platforms. He’s also traveled the country with three sold out stand-up comedy tours.

In 2020, Charlie paired up with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Adam Greuel to release the music/comedy album, Unthawed. The album, which is a mixture of bluegrass, country and Charlie’s comedy, hit #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart and #6 on the Bluegrass Comedy chart.

Charlie’s first book, The Midwest Survival Guide, was released in November of 2021 by William Morrow/Harper Collins and immediately became a New York Times Best Seller. Charlie is currently on his third stand-up tour in support of the book’s release.

Charlie hosts the Cripescast podcast where he interviews musicians, artists, comedians, creators and more to talk about their story and connections to the Midwest.

    2. Oh, PLEASE-It's NEENAH-Menasha! (all my people are from there, and Waupaca, and Waukesha, and Oshkosh, and Appleton, and Milwaukee, etc. We're talking about the Parmenter and Pope families)

    4. I had my first drink in Milwaukee when the drinking age was 18. I was 18, but my sister used my cousin's ID.
    4a. This is when I learned to enjoy cold pizza the next day while enjoying a hangover.

    6. The only way you can refuse leftovers is if you've had a gastric sleeve gastrectomy surgery and your stomach is a big as a walnut.
    7. Having a minivan as a car when you're younger is an automotive tin can on one's tail.
    8. I love Wisconsin, and you SO rock, Charlie! You need to come back out here to SoCal (& I need to go back to my people.).

  4. As a california native, I got the chance to try Wisconsin grown weed one time when my band was on tour in chicago. It was good! And that was like ten years ago, I'm sure it's come a long way since. Stoked for emerging midwest weed culture. Anyway tell your folks i said hi 🙂

  5. I've been alive for 39 years, every one of them spent living in Wisconsin. Have stepped foot in all 72 counties of this beautiful state. Have never heard a single person call a water fountain a bubbler.
