With the release of the Echoes Episode, Bungie released the lore book, Dynasty! This gives massive Books of Sorrow vibes, both in style and depth. It follows the story of the Qugu, a species first mentioned in the Books of Sorrow. It is a difficult read but very enjoyable. This video covers Chapter 2!

Pyramid ❤
I think the pyramid ship was buried there as some sorta gardening technique by the precursors BEFORE the witness. It'd be the best explanation, as it'd open the door to a bunch of "disciples" popping up, even after the witness has been defeated (albeit, w/o any inherent darkness power ups). Maybe it was loaded with tools for helping sow life on planets? Just crash a bunch of ships full of atmosphere stabilizers and spores onto barren planets and give them a few millenia or somethin'.
How does Myelin have this lore? Its not earnable in game, is it?
What if the witness tried to give them darkness to fight on their/his side. The quaygoo just used it for peaceful means so the Witness sent the hive to take them out.
I wonder if this is how Savthun learns how to weaknen Pyramid ships
This Pyramid ship on the Qugu Homeworld predates the witness, and must have been a ship from one of the other factions of the Precursor People that crashed landed there, over time becoming buried under an accretion of soil, rock and other debris from it's impact with the planet. That the Qugu did not know of it's existence but evolved under it's influence is clear.
What is not so clear however is how SAVATHUN knew of it's existence, IF she knew of it's existence. But somehow I think that the Qugu and how they operated gave clues to Savathun that SOMETHING gave the Qugu their natural affinity and ability to use, and dwell in Darkness.
Were the Qugu deliberately singled out by the Hive as another example to test their Sword Logic? NO, I do not believe so, they were just another species on the line of sight along the path being carved out of the Universe by the Hive.
Cool
Is there anywhere I could read this for myself?
How do you get the other two pages
Pyramid!
Whaaaat?! SAVATHUN HAS A BROTHER?!?!😳

Thanks for this myelin!
Very cool!
It’s very interesting that there was a pyramid ship in the base of the mountain, I was not expecting that tbh.
Pyramid
They’re probably one of the species used to create the dread
Can’t wait for part 3. Was not expecting the pyramid. So is this where egregore originated? And Nezarec?
Fugue!
The pyramid ship could have been left there by some precursor dissidents or pre-witness precursors.

Where we can find this story?

I always like to just throw stuff out for fun, so here goes. Sorry for length. Just thorough with my thoughts is all and I love theorizing stuff.
The "nectar" the Qugu consume were introduced to micro organism on Earth and led to the original Vex.
After the destruction of the Qugu by the Hive, some of the surviving Qugu came to Earth for refuge with some of those beasts and set up a portal/gate as a "just in case" measure.
Being different from the life on the Qugu's world, microscopic organism partook on the nectar and had a change. Not having emotions or memories like that of more evolved life forms, they just saw imagery of reproduce, adapt, consume, learn, collective, expand, survive. They pretty much became an intelligent virus that acted collectively.
They spread to the Qugu, infected them, learned from them as they consumed, and by accident or design something happened that sent a bunch of them through the portal as it malfunctioned. Not just sending them elsewhere but a freak accident that sent them back through time.
Some of the proto-vex remained on Earth or arrived at an early time. They adapted a strategy of using other life forms to keep themselves reproducing, influence, adaptation to better suit them, and becoming symbiotic.
The live in the cells of life. Humans are filled with an evolved, symbiotic line of proto-vex and we call them Mitochondria, and that is why Vex Milk/radiolaria works in the creation of Exos. Earth is the birthplace of the original Vex and the rest are the offshoot lost proto-Vex that were sent through time.
Damn that was a fine wine kinda watch. Excellent break down!
I see parallels between the pyramid ship inside the mountain on Seht and the pyramid ship inside the moon that we discover in Shadowkeep. We know that the lunar pyramid was Nezerac’s, and I believe it got buried in the moon after Savathun defeated him, but I don’t believe this ship to also be Nezarec’s. If Nezarec was near the Qugu he definitely would have preyed on the species since they have strong telepathic abilities.
There are a lot of similarities between the Hive and the Qugu, they were both a weak species who formed a symbiotic relationship with another species that empowered them with the darkness. The Witness and Rhulk plotted to turn the Hive to the darkness and shape them into an army that does their bidding, maybe the Witness had similar plans for the Qugu? Maybe the Witness planned for the Hive and the Qugu to go to war to see which species would be the strongest and would in turn make the best army to do its bidding.
Also the description of Savathun’s hive is a good reminder that no matter how much Savathun tries to gaslight us into thinking she’s helping humanity, she has committed genocide against hundreds of species in the universe and definitely does not have any sympathy for us.
I really enjoy your content but if there's one small suggestion I could make to improve your videos it would be to change the backing track that you use.
I know that it is music from D2, but it has a very somber tone to it and because it plays throughout a majority of your videos I've grown a bit tired of it. In general, it sort of brings me down when I come here to listen to you explain lore and it sort of turns me off.
I know this is just my opinion, but I thought it might be worth sharing because it's a small change that could make a big difference. Your tone is typically very upbeat and you bring good energy to your voice-overs, but I think this track runs in contrast to that and it's unfortunate that a small detail feels like it's turning me away lately.
Sounds like Vex?

Very interesting and informative video! Thank you for your hard work! 😘🍭
I believe this eludes to a cast off part of the witness. One that wasn’t down with exterminating all life. One that wanted to help people. Like how all the abandoned pyramids we went to had them. Maybe a way to reintroduce the idea of resonance as a more neutral power.
Pyramid
Banana rama, shi ma mooman
Could this be the planet Drifter went to when he lost his group? Maybe the beasts had some sort of connection to the darkness and could snuff out the light.
does anyone have a link to where I can read chapters 2 and 3?

In the Act 2 livestream they said, that the precursors aren`t the only ones within the witness. The Episode is also about finding that fragment of the Witness, which landed on Nessus. That there weren`t just precursors within the Witness, the Echo being the center of the story and this lorebook make me think, that Te`Qal became a part of the witness and is now the Echo.
