The border collie is so intelligent. I had a bearded collie gorgeous but very hyperactive. Working dogs. My Alfie used to herd people exercise is the best thing for these dogs.

This dog is bred to work ALL day, everyday. Bad choice for that property.
We rescued a border collie aged (we think) about 5. He was redundant as a working collie but had started training as a puppy but was never indoors in his past as his boss died and the boss' brother already had two woking collies. Then the brother had to go into hospital and living somewhere remote that I won't mention to protect identities, he was going to shoot him. He had been tied up in a shed for four years. It took us 6 weeks to entice him across the kitchen floor. He cocked his leg up in the hearth just the once. We said, "No thank you Max" and we never had another accident. He put his paws on the work surface once and we said the same and he never did it again. He never played ball because he had had things thrown at him, not for him. However, he loved tossing plastic plant pots around the garden. Woodie looks just like our Max used to look like.
That's a very frustrated collie who needs to be working in some form, maybe agility or obedience work. Their brains are always working.

yeah this isnt the breed for home and city life….unless you have sheep and other animals to herd and live on a large farm and have the energy to keep up with them this breed isnt for you. woody probably is from working lines but isnt able to do his job. its typical for herding breeds to act out when they thing they want to herd or control is not listening to them. woody is treating his people like sheep who are trying to stray from the herd so he acts out as if to say "hey! I dont approve of those that!"
My dog's the same when I sit at my PC. She doesn't mind me watching videos on the phone but can't stand it when I touch a keyboard probably because she knows I will be concentrating. WFH but of a nightmare
