  1. Does the new Alpha Legion WL Trait stack with the Legion bonus rule?
With the trait you cant hit the WL on 1-3s and the Alpha Legion rule is -1 to hit when the WL is more than 12 inch away.

  2. so are Black Legion units with Chaos Undivided icons immune to Combat attrition? since their rolls of 1 will get bumped up to a 2, and they can't take any penalties to their combat attrition rolls. seems pretty neat if that's how it works

  3. quite sadge that my Terminator lord been working got shot down, as were making full World Eaters Terminator Lord but cannot give Power axe and Chainfist for doing heavy damage on both Infantry and tanks.

  4. Codex overall is very mediocre/ weak… it seems unfinished, with really weird decisions made about loadouts, accessibility of marks and core. CSM try to do everything a little and does nothing well. Abaddon carries this entire faction once again – he will be surely nerfed.

  5. Wait… Does this mean you could give a Slaaneshi Alpha Legion Lord the Drakescale Plate, Clandestine, and two weapons of your choice juiced up as Thaa'ris and Rhi'ol?
That would mean a 2+sv that doesn't break Armour of Contempt, outside 12" count as in light cover, +1sv in cover (total +2), unmodified hit rolls 1-3 always fail, unmodified wound rolls 1-3 always fail, Fights First, and 2D3 extra attacks on w/e weapon you want to double up on.

  6. man it is pathetic how many people are calling the book garbage just because it got rid of a few loadouts. People need to learn to not hyperfocus on one aspect and look at the book as a whole to realize this is an objective improvement. bunch of crybabies this community can be

  7. Night Lords have no special characters. They didn't put in Decimus or Malcharion, I would have liked to have seen Malcharion.
Everything else was good, but Night Lords still haven't completely gotten the Xarl/Cyrion/Variel/Talos individual feel that does the right things for the legion.

My idea for a chapter approved change to the Night Lords:
When the whole army is Night Lords:

    HQ:
    Malcharion: 250 points
Helbrute with leadership benefit for the army-
-"War Sage" Trait: Units within 18" are fearless, and Masters of Executions, and Legionnaires gain plus one strength.
-"Students of War" trait: Master of Executions have studied Malcharion's writings and gain plus 1 toughness, plus 1 to attacks, and plus 1" when moving.

    Lords of Execution:
Night Lords Masters of Executions squad (Legionnaire Veterans):
This would have given them the individual feel, and the idea of bringing in the troop layout from the novels.
    – Points cost of Terminators
    – Basically a 5-10 man Master of Executions/Old Style Command squad template that can constantly turn on one another verbally ( Rolls of 1 to wound lead to reduced leadership for morale rolls during the enemy hit phase).

    Wargear Options:
    1. "Dark Apothecaries"- Can heal D6 wounds for legionnaires
at the of an opponents turn.
    – For every dead legionnaire the unit
    gains plus 1 leadership.
    – Can be equipped with a power weapon.

    2. "Lords of Combat/Executions" – Regular Master of Executions option but
can use a 2 handed Chain Blade
    or Chain Axe.
    – Spare Teeth Option:
    Chain weapons are 2 handed,
    ancient, and wielded by
    veteran warriors in this unit.
They can fight 1 additional time
in a fight phase, one time per game.

    3. " Legionnaire Bearers"- Lords of execution who are able to take a Chaos sign.

Master of Executions Unit Traits: " I hate my brother" – Lords of Execution
despise one another and other Night Lords
except those from HQ options, and
will therefore remain in a fight as an
    act of contempt towards other
Legionnaires. Lords of Execution who roll
a 6 once per game automatically pass morale
checks for the remainder of the game.

  8. This may be a good place to ask that question 🙂 I'm just starting my adventure with 40k tabletop (I know some lore, played many games, just never played tabletop). I wanted to go with death guard (I hestitaded between DG and csm) but when I went to the store to get them I was advised to better go with CSM, since they are much more versatile and should be more fun to play and I bought them. Was that a good choice? 🙂

  9. I realize this is about 3 months late, but why did GW ditch the "create your own chapter" like loyalist space marines? Not suggesting the legion traits are bad, but if you want to do an army like the Purge or the Pyre, you're boned.

  10. I am only just returning after 20 years away from the hobby. So much of this has gone over my head 😅
Suppose I just need to buy some figures and remortgage the house for some paints.
