Georgia authorities said Sunday they are investigating the “catastrophic failure” of a dock gangway that collapsed and killed seven people on Georgia’s Sapelo Island.
Cell phone video revealed the panic and chaos that ensued as elderly victims were pulled from the Atlantic waters of the Georgia barrier island.

Same thing can happen when anything gets overloaded, boats, elevators, bridges, decks, balconies, etc., even an airplane can get overloaded! People need to lookout for their own safety!
Panic and chaos is definitely expected in situations like this. Show the cause, and prevention, then you might have a video to watch.

if, as the comments suggest, this was due to the gangplank slipping off the edge of the dock, and not a structural failure, then i get the outrage. however, if there was a posted gangplank weight limit and it was ignored, i'd blame it on the mass of people who thought it ok. i mean, imagine if this were a gangplank kind of structure over a garden. 40 people and not one safety conscious person thought to warn them? omg. 5 people can avg 1k, 10 people=1 ton. wtf. if they are familiar with living around boats & docks, how can they be that ignorant. and now its all about gettin civil rights and race baiting
