Walt Disney World and Epcot Center 1983
Pack your bags—you’re going to Disney World! In October 1983 reporter Jesse Macias, photojournalist Ron Espinosa, and camera assistant Eve Bayani traveled cross country to check out the new ride at Epcot Center, Horizons, and explore the 27,000-acre amusement park.
Since it was so large, Jesse recommended taking the skyway to get a bird’s eye view of Magic Kingdom. It’s very similar to its California cousin Disneyland, but it’s much larger. The monorail connected the two parks.
Epcot Center (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) was one year old when our crew was there. It was divided into Future World and World Showcase. Jesse said, “All the buildings are huge, ultra-modern, and offer visitors a fascinating insight into what might be in store for future generations.”
Horizons was the only attraction in “Future World” to showcase all of Epcot’s “Future World” elements: communication, energy, transportation, anatomy, along with humankind’s relationship to the sea, and the land.
A spokesperson said they brought in experts in agriculture and outer space; all ideas were achievable, and it was not a Buck Rogers style look into the future. It closed in 1999.

It's time to send a clear message to the Disney Corporation and let us be clear; it is a corporation whose principal purpose is to generate profits. It is time to boycott Disney. This can and should be done by no longer attending any of their theme parks, going on their cruises, subscribing to Disney+, purchasing any of their merchandise and no longer going to see or purchasing any of their movies, cartoons or shows. The only way to bring down this pedophilic and perverted company pushing an agenda is to affect it's 'bottom line' and hit them where it hurts the most, their wallet, so that it will be much harder for them to afford to commit the heinous acts of social injustice to families and children everywhere world-wide. Disney no longer has a heart; in fact, it no longer has a soul; let us prevent them from stealing ours!!!
