Executive Council of Australian Jewry Co-CEO Alex Ryvchin has blasted the Albanese government for presiding over the “greatest increase in antisemitism” in Australia’s history.
Victoria Police announced it was treating the arson attack on the Addas Israel Synagogue of Melbourne as an act of terrorism on Monday.
“The fact that the government has presided over the greatest increase in antisemitism in this country’s history, I think, is a cause for shame and a cause for deep reflection on the part of the government,” Mr Ryvchin told Sky News host Steve Price.
“They seem to be doubling down on their policies with regard to Israel, demonising it, insulting it at every opportunity.”
