Cathay crews part 2 and the word ‘CHECK

Hello and how do you do? Happy Easter if it applies to you.
So I posed the question- how many times do we say the word ‘CHECK’ on a sector from A to B. For a start, every time a checklist is completed, the PM (who reads it), announces ‘Checklist complete to which the PF responds with ‘Check’. In this instance, the ‘CHECK’ is being used as verification that the actions have been completed- it can also be used as a Confirmation of status called by the PF. Any FMA mode change for example is announced by the PF (Pilot Flying), and then after verification by the PM( Pilot monitoring) he/she will announce ‘CHECK’. If ATC give radar headings, every time the new heading is set, it is announced by the PF to a response of ‘CHECK’ by the PM. So you see how the number of ‘Checks’ goes up quickly on a sector. I also have a short chat with the other team members – if they can achieve this, you can be a pilot too! Join the Cathay Pacific cadet program if your intention is to be a pilot!✈️✈️✈️✈️
Now you know- hope you liked it. ‘Chi Di Gin! Later!

  1. Capt Obet…..You're such an amazing training Captain. So encouraging and always willing to help. You fly with some knuckle head Captains, they will want to ridicule and frustrate your efforts and future.
    Good job Captain Obet…
