  1. I think Nocturne is not as good as the Trevor's Castlevania. Almost in every aspects I think the predecessor was much better. Though it's still a good series. But I'm disappointed they kinda water the complexity of the messages down and make it more Anime like where the battle feels more generic now and character development was a sudden spike just like many Anime did. It was not the case with Trevor's Castlevania where everything is more well thought and character development takes time and full of details.

  2. Whoa the recap of the series is eerily exactly how I felt about season 1 & 2. The first season felt like such a letdown after the amazing ending of the original series. And while it had its moments, overall felt like a bit of disappointment minus Alucard’s return in the finale. The second season was so much better though and definitely redeemed the series overall for me. The animation alone was incredible. I just finished the second season and immediately went back and started watching the original series. And while great, you can definitely tell so much more money went into the animation in nocturne.

  3. The black eldritch figure is Chaos from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. It's the being that granted Dracula his powers and Death's Master. More of an anti-god, force/concept being that holds domain in the fundamental idea of control & dominance and that despair, corruption & madness are eventual outcomes. Think God but the opposite, a higher being than Satan. He is also know as Old Man Coyote & Lord of Shadow. Wherever light is cast, shadow follows.

  4. Didn't like the 1rst season (by several reasons). Was hoping it would do better (thinking on Trevor's saga). The 2nd season ended been amazing. They set the bar very high for 3rth season. The quality of animation, the story and character development was superior. The final fight…damn…incredible.

Just now I realized the design for Alucard now was more in tune with the one from the games.

  5. Haven't watched the show second season and I love spoilers so this didn't really bother me knowing but I will say I do feel it's a missed opportunity to not give the abbots a chance at Redemption his choice wasn't exactly easy from the first season I'll have to watch this to see how things play out but I feel there's a hypocrisy and letting the Avid Soul be dragged to hell wow old rock is giving a chance at Redemption. The show rides a fine line when it comes to diversity I'm not a fan of it as I feel the story would have benefit more if it would have surrounded Richter and Maria and that be a third character story much like Isaac and Hector but I'll have to watch the season to really give it a good shot

  6. Season 1 was so much better. More artful. The music was a million times better. I didn’t get goosebumps at all from the music in season 2 whereas season 1 almost all of Edwards nocturnes were breathtaking. This season felt rushed and a bit messy. I still enjoyed it but it failed to reach the mark of season one.

  7. I really didn't like this show and thought a lot of the writing was still bad, too much focus on boring fluff, and screen time among characters not evened out.
The only thing I see as good is the action.

  8. I really hope they bring back the power of Dracula into someone that stole his power or something since the actual Dracula is no longer evil but his power is most likely dormant somewhere. This would be perfect setup for Symphony of the Night. Maybe they would use the lunar eclipse a la Aria of Sorrow to summon the castle. Who knows?

  9. Loved season 2. Maybe Old Man Coyote is Chaos. Maybe he'll use Terra & Maria to summon the monsters that Alucard needs to fight. I think Ric will be possessed by Chaos or try to resurrect Draculas Castle as his fortress.

  10. Loved having Drolta being the main antagonist, it took me by surprise; and so I like that a god vampire night creature got to be the final battle in this season.

Still nothing has topped Trevor vs Death. I’m thinking that’s what the dark figure is.
