The Irishman is good too
Follow up with the History Buffs episode on the movie. Key note, it has since come to light that Rothstein was an FBI informant (or at least had a code name) and this explains why he survived the movie and wasn't prosecuted.
If youโve ever seen the old Camโron and juelz Santana music video called Santans town the white dude standing next to Cam by the vehicle counting money is Frank โleftyโ Rosenthal and heโs the real person who Robert D Neroโs character in this movie is based on. He ran casinos with the mob back in the day and survived and assassination attempt when someone attached a bomb to the bottom of his vehicle. The bomb went off but what saved him was the actual model of the caddy he was driving it had strong metal plates underneath the driver seats. He left Vegas and opened a few bars and also had an online casino hustle. He died in 2008.
In a film with a handful of acting giants and legends, Sharon Stone was on another level. The layers she found for the Ginger character is beyond words.
Every heterosexual man needs to watch this movie at least once in their lives. Itโs a perfect lesson in what happens when you try to turn a hoe into a wife.
State of Grace (1990) and Kill the Irishman (2011) which is based on a true story with real news footage in it are movies you might like..
i had such a hard time with him putting up with ginger lmao. thats real life though, some dudes get hooked on toxic girls that wreck their shit.
This a movie about "The Hole in the Wall Gang."
25:36 – Again, "SHE BELONGS TO THE STREETS!!!"
37:03 my mama when my ex back ๐
This was Joe Pescis best role and film IMO
I'm dumb.
..went to the showboat casino in nj…they broke me had to hit the ATM to pay the tiles.
And then took the shell toe Adidas back to footlocker
And now watch Married to the Mob, it is still messed up but liter. And please watch The Kitchen, it is hard.
Lester (James Woods) graduated from the same hig๐ข school as me – Pilgrim High School in little old Warwick RI
Love both the channels, this movie one and your music reactions. You guys are awesome.
Great reaction vid โค the real life story is equally as fascinating!
36: 59 – I knew you'd say it!!!๐๐๐๐
Gotta watch my favorite gangster movie, Millerโs Crossing.
Man Joe pesci…. Great actor that doesn't get his just do.,…….. Great as a bad guy… Likable as a good guy… Easley a script comedy Legend…. The man is very diverse in his acting talent…..
This was a great movie and I loved it as much as I liked it the first time I saw it. The music was great too. It was hard to understand Ginger. She had it good. But ill gotten gains.
Masterpiece, Pesci and Dinero are the best gangster actors ever to grace a screen ..this is how a movie is made about the real gangsters. The true OGs.
I couldnt stand Gingers character, which makes Sharon Stone such a great actor….
10:06 … No, he's not even cute. But he's got BDE as the kids say. And apparently it's true. James Woods has been a ladies' man for decades.
Yes! More movies like these, please.
Yo I was tripping at that intro like "Where's them voices coming from." And the I realised. ๐
I loved this movie when it came out. I watched it all the time in college.
6:52 ''Now go home and get your f*ckin shine-box!'' ๐๐๐๐๐ฅด๐ฅด๐ฅด๐ฅด Oh wait, that was in Goodfellas…. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Just like the movie good fellas this movie is loosely based on a true story ๐ฏโฏ๏ธ
The pen though ๐ฎ
This movie seriously disturbed me when I first saw it, and I've seen a lot of crazy stuff. There is something about the way it is done that makes it one of the most disturbing things I've seen.
Aisa honey, they're not planting Daisies out there.๐
Reminder it's not always a woman causing crap. Sometimes it's a bad man who made them that way. That greasy guy had probably been grooming that cokehead, since she was 15.
15:01 That's some major simping ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Thank you guys for reacting to Casino, not many YouTubers have reacted to it!
You guys have great reactions, but my dude…your voice is super loud and piercing. It drowns out everything and makes you want to stop the reaction.
Turn on your reaction and walk away until you can barely hear. You'll see how your voice pierces through everyting.
hhhheeyeyyyyyy!!!!! yeah i am so glad you got to Casino!!!!! watching….you guys didnt know Sharon Stone? WTF? heheheh i love ya!
I got about 50 bucks in jewelry ๐
Yeah. You're right. What made the mob so powerful at thier height is that even more important than the violence was the corruption they were able to command by spreading around the huge amount of crooked money they were making. They were able to do alot of things with very little worry about getting caught because so many of the people that were supposed to stop them had no interest in stopping them because they were getting paid too. And most that weren't corrupt were too scared to dare testify against them about anything.
And due to water level being so low in Lake Mead, not too far off from Las Vegas. I think last Summer or so, they did found 3 or 4 barrels and they did discover body/bone inside. It has been mentioned it might possible have ties to Mob Las Vegas back in the day. Now I say, Lake Mead is the lake that tells truth! Its not to the keeping secrets anymore!!!
as far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a gambler…but guess what, Billy Batts took the bats and got his revenge! what's next? spend 20 years in the can, compromised and not a peep?
Can't watch casino because of Ginger
Fun fact about Vegas ! The gangster bugsy Segal got the commission to finance the construction of the first hotel casino there in the middle of the desert as this vision he had of exactly what Vegas is today and it went way over budget and some of the money went missing wich was believed his girlfriend stole but , they decided to cut him a break and give him a chance to prove he was right but on opening night there was a once in a century storm and it was a bust and shortly after they killed him and shortly after that it was packed and super successful and made the mob 100's of millions long after he died , kind of tragic ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I think I remember both of you being somewhere around Dallas…. with that, there is a book out there about how the mob first came to Arlington to start their version of Vegas way back when. They liked the idea of being in between Dallas and FW with easy access to a large airport. But, if I remember correctly, a new sheriff came in o power in Dallas, and he was out to stop the casinos, so they up and moved out to Las Vegas to start all of this. Very interesting read, and lots of secrets around town that still exist. Where they started this in Arlington is now a small christian college.
The next movie you should do is The Departed. It's also a Scorsese movie with an unbelievable cast. It's also loosely based on Whitey Bulger. You'll love it.
I was so blown away by this movie the first time I saw it! Definitely an all time favorite! I recommend The Irishman or The Departed. 2 more Scorsese Classics!
