  1. Follow up with the History Buffs episode on the movie. Key note, it has since come to light that Rothstein was an FBI informant (or at least had a code name) and this explains why he survived the movie and wasn't prosecuted.

  2. If youโ€™ve ever seen the old Camโ€™ron and juelz Santana music video called Santans town the white dude standing next to Cam by the vehicle counting money is Frank โ€œleftyโ€ Rosenthal and heโ€™s the real person who Robert D Neroโ€™s character in this movie is based on. He ran casinos with the mob back in the day and survived and assassination attempt when someone attached a bomb to the bottom of his vehicle. The bomb went off but what saved him was the actual model of the caddy he was driving it had strong metal plates underneath the driver seats. He left Vegas and opened a few bars and also had an online casino hustle. He died in 2008.

  5. This was a great movie and I loved it as much as I liked it the first time I saw it. The music was great too. It was hard to understand Ginger. She had it good. But ill gotten gains.

  6. Masterpiece, Pesci and Dinero are the best gangster actors ever to grace a screen ..this is how a movie is made about the real gangsters. The true OGs.

I couldnt stand Gingers character, which makes Sharon Stone such a great actor….

  7. This movie seriously disturbed me when I first saw it, and I've seen a lot of crazy stuff. There is something about the way it is done that makes it one of the most disturbing things I've seen.

  8. You guys have great reactions, but my dude…your voice is super loud and piercing. It drowns out everything and makes you want to stop the reaction.

Turn on your reaction and walk away until you can barely hear. You'll see how your voice pierces through everyting.

  9. Yeah. You're right. What made the mob so powerful at thier height is that even more important than the violence was the corruption they were able to command by spreading around the huge amount of crooked money they were making. They were able to do alot of things with very little worry about getting caught because so many of the people that were supposed to stop them had no interest in stopping them because they were getting paid too. And most that weren't corrupt were too scared to dare testify against them about anything.

  10. And due to water level being so low in Lake Mead, not too far off from Las Vegas. I think last Summer or so, they did found 3 or 4 barrels and they did discover body/bone inside. It has been mentioned it might possible have ties to Mob Las Vegas back in the day. Now I say, Lake Mead is the lake that tells truth! Its not to the keeping secrets anymore!!!

  12. Fun fact about Vegas ! The gangster bugsy Segal got the commission to finance the construction of the first hotel casino there in the middle of the desert as this vision he had of exactly what Vegas is today and it went way over budget and some of the money went missing wich was believed his girlfriend stole but , they decided to cut him a break and give him a chance to prove he was right but on opening night there was a once in a century storm and it was a bust and shortly after they killed him and shortly after that it was packed and super successful and made the mob 100's of millions long after he died , kind of tragic ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  13. I think I remember both of you being somewhere around Dallas…. with that, there is a book out there about how the mob first came to Arlington to start their version of Vegas way back when. They liked the idea of being in between Dallas and FW with easy access to a large airport. But, if I remember correctly, a new sheriff came in o power in Dallas, and he was out to stop the casinos, so they up and moved out to Las Vegas to start all of this. Very interesting read, and lots of secrets around town that still exist. Where they started this in Arlington is now a small christian college.
