Not “do UFOs exist” but “WHY UFOs exist”.
Why they exist?
By definition UFOs must exist – all that is needed is for one person to being unable to identify an object that is flying in the atmosphere.
Extraterrestrial life or aliens is a completely different issue.
So what exactly are you talking about?
Or rather WHY are you talking about it?
Why?
It would be nice if it were so simple but UFO's have been recorded for centuries, both in literature & paintings. So his interpretation doesn't wash. He's grasping at platitudes.

UFOs as the modern symbol of salvation from existential threat, yet inextricably conjugated with their terrible fear and awe of the unknown, of outer space and unmapped reality.
Old myths have lost their power and wonder, hence instead of angels we look to UFOs for salvation, something greater, more powerful, yet shares in the dreadful unknowability with what it is supposed to hopefully save us, existential threat.
Something just as dreadful and unknown to save us from existential threat, both anxious manifestation of trembling collective unconscious, existential threat always has the psychic content of salvation in angels or UFO. Both mutually implicate each other.
Ive seen two UFOs in my lifetime. It wasn't a shooting star, it wasnt a plane, or a space station. It was unidentifiable.
