I feel like his name outweighs his deeds. I know the names of about 3 pirates and he’s one of them. But he had a pretty unremarkable career.
Good to hear that the Romulans were free game? I used to drink at a pub in Wapping called The Captain Kidd. He was executed nearby and the pub was right on the river with a lovely backgarden.

I'd query how you said Greenock at the start
After hearing this Biographics telling of Cpt. William Kidd, I'm not so inclined to consider him a "bonified" pirate, let alone a notorious, ruthless, dangerous, pirate-captain equivalent to the reputation of Blackbeard. In fact, Captain Kidd seems more of a foolish chump.
