VAR is a cluster F. Like you say, we want fairness. Not pedantic scrutiny. Video ref should watch back incident twice at full speed and once more slowed down to check for something very very OBVIOUS!. Then ask on field ref to do same if needed. About 90% of VAR decisions should be 'play on' if the refs are actually doing their job to a professional standard.
As for offside, it should be based on position of the attackers feet only. There is exactly zero advantage if you're elbow is 1 inch beyond the defender when 30 or 40 yards from goal.
RE: Football games, Pro Evo 6 was my favourite because it matched the era it was released in. It was all about through ball counters and headed goals from crosses. Modern games feel a bit on rails for me.
I didn’t even celebrate the Bruno goal as I feared it was going to be overruled by VAR for some reason. VAR kills the moment we live for!

Love hearing about old footy games, Emlyn Hughes was the nuts, had Manchester United Europe too. Dead easy to go back and play them, emulators are mint these days, you can literally get every 80s+90s system and every game pretty much and it fits on a USB stick, play it off a PC with an Xbox controller or whatever.
