  1. I had 3 games of 10th tonight (500pt round robin).
I ran an Imperial Knights Castellan for shits and giggles. Went 2:1 loosing to necrons (a VERY close match).
He ran a lord with warscythe & res orb, plasmancer, 2 cryptothralls, 20 Gauss Reaper warriors, and 2 Heavy Lokhusts with Gauss Destructors.
Honestly it was a very oppressive list to keep down, and I only managed to remove the warriors by the sheer amount of blast weapons on the castellan (still took 4 turns!)
He beat everyone tonight, and honestly the synergies worked really well, and got me rethinking as to running necrons in 10th ๐Ÿ˜…

  2. This thing is totally auto include! That being said, one concern of mine is opponents basically going for broke to focus fire it down as soon as they can, although the Feel No Pain is a great counter to that, and you could hide it if terrain permits.
    My Necrons looking quite strong!!

  3. Res orb is no longer one time use, it just gives you an additional reanimation in the enemy's command phase in addition to your own. So say you've got an overlord with an orb leading a unit of lychguard that is also being buffed by the reanimator, you'll get +2D3 wounds back (so on average 2 lychguard getting back up) twice a battle round. You can get a Technomancer in there too repairing one wounded guy a turn and also providing 5+ FNP.

  4. Just played my first game of 10th with a mate, Necrons (me) Vs Tau, 10 immortals with a royal warden + Technomancer with a reanimate in toe! Absolute menis to remove! 21 shots from breachers winding on 3s lost 5 models, reanimated every one back with the strat, three times! And they can dish out some wounds! New fav infantry unit

  5. as soon as the codex comes out it will get nerfed. they are likely going to be putting out the reanimator as a separate model soon, so they need to move units

  6. I can see an argument for undying legions working as 2d3 (+1), it does say activate its reanimation protocols AND *reanimate d3 wounds*.

Although, I would read it the same as you

  7. responding to your statement at 12:30. i dont think the overlord can lead a canoptek reanimator even with the sovereign coronal. the overlord card states that it can lead warriors, immortals or lychguard. so i believe that aura will only work for models like those.

  8. Welcome to the English language… Protocol of the Undying Legion should say "triggers reanimated protocol. If the unit is, led add one to the roll (or reanimates an additional wound)" but James workshop has never heard of technical writers, so we are doomed to suffer poorly written documents. As written AND does mean both (I don't actually think it works this way)

  9. I enjoy your videos, but I think that Reanimators are a step too far, especially when Necrons are already struggling to put out enough efficient damage. Three Doomsday Arks help, but they donโ€™t really push you over the line. Two bricks of Warriors with a Lord/Overlord and a Technomancer, or one of Lychguard with your favorite combos and a warrior brick is generally enough (especially when these are already around 350-400pts each). I cannot condone calling it an auto-include unit. I think itโ€™s a trap to go 100% in on reanimation, as you will have little to no damage to deal with your opponent.

My favorite Lychguard unit is x10 with Nemesor, Vargard, and a CCB with The Sovereign Coronal to give my all Arks that +1 to hit.
