As the work stoppage hits one month, the Crown corporation says it will notify Canadians as quickly as possible when its operations resume.

Does anyone even get anything important from Canada post anymore?
Who ps off mfk I need my child birth certificate bro. Give what they want.
CEO makes almost as much as the Prime Minister.
Management should take a huge pay cut. There is layer upon layer of over paid managers in CP.
The union was going to do rotating strikes which would guarantee deliveries of critical items, just a little slower. The post office file notice of a lockout which would have the same effect as a general strike. Blame the post office management if you didnโt get your packages.
Stand fast AGAINST CUPE and their "collective"…over paid, best benefits…LAZY workers….let's just get used to a world WITHOUT Canada Post. Eventually these morons will have to find work….can't strike for months or years…try putting an application you were previously a postal worker. Good luck in anyone wanting your communist ass. You guys have a great deal and want more….at the expense of people struggling. Who can't even fathom your pay, benefits or retirement options. I say GO TO HELL CUPE workers. We don't want or need you. Stay on strike until YOU have to struggle like the rest of us.
The private sector is not a comparison for public sector. The public sector is supposed to set the standard that the private sector would need to keep up with to convince workers to go into the private sector.
If the Gov. is allowed to keep pointing to the private sector for what they should do, it's a race to the bottom where all workers lose.
My wife has worked in a hospital for a decade. If they get the 18% over 3 years they promised them this contract, she will actually be back up to making what she did when first hired a decade ago when adjusted for inflation. (If inflation rates were real, she would still be making less).
It's pathetic that Gov. Unions can't even "fight" hard enough to keep wages up with inflation, let alone a raise.
And they expect the private sector to lead the way to higher wages and better work conditions?
Moronic.
Itโs simple, if you donโt do your job then find someone who will. I bet there is a lot of people who wonโt complain about the paycheque and benefits which they get now.
Privatize and clean house.
I'm not unsympathetic to the postal workers, but they are government employees and in essence being paid for by our tax dollars. The bloat at the top needs to be trimmed for sure. Bonuses for a job badly done, also need to stop. If that's taken care of, maybe there would be more money for the boots on the ground workers.
Hey Canada Post, Iโm waiting for my pension cheque. Iโm not independently wealthy. My health is bad. You think maybe I could have my cheque so I can buy food and stuff?
Good, but a little late coming, ruined this Christmas for my family. The Post Office no longer have my support. They should not be allowed to strike during the Christmas season , period! No one gets 19 percent over 4 years!!! They are being too darn greedy!
19% is fucking insane, how must are our taxes going up if these idiots get there way
20-25% ๐๐๐ how bout 100%
Canada Post is a bloated and wasteful mess like our govt
Strike at tax season. No one supports this shit
They want free trans surgery thats what this is all about
Lol back to work you go, you lazy uneducated workers
Whatโs the point of strikes if theyโre forced back to work? And doesnโt this violate democracy? Why donโt they force the homeless to work?
I really hope that Canada Post declares bankruptcy!!! Start a totally new company without a greedy Union!!!
The fact they withheld charity food and money is disgusting
Besides no junk mail at my house I didn't even notice they were on strike
Shut down the post permanently. We can adjust!!!
This is screwing up so much
Prime example of government and its employees detached from economic reality (Look forward to more). Fact is if Canada Post had the money, there would be a contract….They don't. As a corporation responsible for its own economic future. This is how it goes… BANKRUPT! The board of directors and the union officials all clean out their desks in May 2025 and there is restructuring etc. from top to bottom everybody gets fired/laid offand can reapply with the new postal entity(s). This is how it works in the real world they supposedly govern.
They need to hold their ground, they can bring down this government and they should! Canada needs to end. Stop euthanasia stop MAID!!!
I 100% pray that these people refuse to go back to work and they bring Canada to their knees. Canada is a failing country and it's killing its population on purpose. It it's offering euthanasia to people like my grandmother who just found out she has a heart problem. She should be able to live for 10 more years but they are telling her she should kill herself instead, she has 60 grandchildren and if she goes through with us I will curse Canada until the day I die
they dont deserve a penny when they ruined eveeyones christmas by going on strike at this time
people working harder jobs dont even get as much as these do
Ya the public is fed up with the postal service going out on strike everytime at Christmas,,,
Let them stay on strike and suffer with no money until the end of January or beyond.
I was forced back to work as an ECE during the 2022 Ontario strike. Once I was forced back without a deal being made, I felt betrayed by my union and country, so I quit and started a new career, and I have never been happier.
Anytime I hear about an 'ECE shortage' in this province, it puts a smile on my face. I understand that the people this directly affects are just normal people who didn't force anyone to do anything, but my sympathy for them is heavily outweighed by the distain I feel towards the government that forced me to pick between my own well being, and being an ECE. Hopefully, ECEs of the future will benefit from the choice I made to leave the field.
I suggest the same for postal workers who feel cheated and under appreciated.
Distracted by your actions
To fire your financial minister deputy minister
Wow resign
You did not even fire steve McKinnon IMMEDIATELY Leadership is not always about being in charge It is about taking care of those in your charge pierre trudeau
You failed Canada
It is about time you greedy so and so's got back to work! I am glad the govt put an end to your unrealistic demands! I looked at how much you make along with your huge benefit package and you are VERY LUCKY to get what you are currently getting and should be embarssed to be asking for more!!
HEY HOW YOUR XMAS STRIKE WORK OUT FOR YOU. MY SCOREBOARD SHOWS YOU GOT NOTHING AND LOST 2 PAYCHECKS AND ALL CANADIANS HATE YOU GREEDY PAPERBOYS. NO PAYCHECKS FOR 2 WEEKS THAT'S DEC. 31
Management should be fired for failing to negotiate and failing to make a profit also they should be forced to divest in Purolator, their competition which they own 91% of. They go on strike, Purolater makes a profit
Who cares if you've been ordered back to work. Just don't go back until they are willing to negotiate. They can't fire all of you, and even if they did it would cost them more to replace everyone than to meet your demands. What is the point of striking at all if you are just going to give up at the first sign of resistance. This act they are trying to use to force you all back is a sign that they are desperate. Stay strong, and stand firm. You have the power; not them, and they know it. Why else would they be resorting to underhanded measures. Don't give in!
Stay on strike! It too late for yaโll! Canada wont forget this!
The demands being made by these postal workers are completely out of touch with reality. Theyโre pushing for inflated wages, excessive benefits, and unrealistic vacation time. In doing so, they have brought mail delivery across Canada to a standstill, especially at a time when the country needs it most during the busy holiday season. This strike has already cost Canada Post hundreds of millions of dollars, causing unnecessary chaos for businesses and individuals alike. Itโs high time these workers return to their jobs and stop holding the country hostage with these unreasonable demands. The disruption has gone on long enough. Get back to work ya bums.
Your obsolete and ineffective, inefficient.
Thanks to this everyone will and have found alternatives.
๐๐๐๐
Bye bye
"Mail is heavy, and sometimes it snows…" maaan, get outta here. Yall about to be replaced by robot dogs.
Lazy Canadian Post workers. In the US, the US Postal Service runs 6 days a week, except Sundays! And US Federal Law prohibits essential services from striking. Let that sink in. We should abolish the right to strike for ALL federal employees period. People in the private sector have it hard, businesses are seeing their busiest time of the year go down the toilet because of these lazy and entitled idiots.
I'll take any Canada post employees job if they don't want it.
