Can We Fix the Tool Store? (Yes, We Can!) ~ LEGO Rock Raiders Step By Step Instructions

Well, it turns out my original Tool Store video had a number of notable errors in it, so we’re back for a rematch! This time around, I think Slugger’s got it right!

An extra special thank you to Juniper and Baraklava for helping me out with the Tool Store model; without them, this video would not have been possible!

Here are the Step By Step photos if you would like to go at your own pace!

  1. I wasn't any wiser the previous video, but I think it's really cool you took your "goof" and constructed it into a great video on reverse engineering an in-game model! Also, love how you edit your building instructions to fit your music: here are the pieces [beat], here's where they go [beat]

  2. I audibly cheered when I saw the Power Station on the horizon. I already had picked up the pieces for it on bricklink and they're on their way now from Germany and Hungary!

  3. Wow, what a process!
I really respect that amount of work and research and digging; I definitely only do that for the things I love the most, so it's nice to see that you do it for Rock Raiders!
I also appreciate your willingness to say "I messed up, and here's the fix".
And Bob… oh, Bob… I haven't seen him in many, MANY years. You calling him Robert, though, THAT threw me for a BIG loop.
I appreciate the new instructions and the look at your process! I can't wait to keep up with this new sub-series within Rock Raiders, even if I'm not exactly building along at home!
EDIT: Oh, might I suggest that, since the music you use has been released on YouTube, you put a link to it on YouTube in the description?
I personally would list it out by title and then link each one, and then, if you have a new one, it just doesn't get linked, but that's just me.

  4. I really enjoyed hearing about the process you take to try to make these as accurate as possible, and the various sources you consult to make it so. I remember trying to build a tool store and Teleport pad as a kid with my older brother, and we didn't have much to work from outside of the in-game renders and instructions, and we didn't even have the full box version of the PC game either so the renders in the instructions were even smaller!

I think I have enough pieces now to attempt this version!

  5. Привет! Классное видео) К сожалению с русскими субтитрами теперь нельзя смотреть , поэтому я плохо понимаю о чем ты рассказываешь. Можешь в кратко объяснить о чем рассказываешь?

  6. I’ll admit, that Bob the Builder joke at the beginning really gave me a wave of nostalgia, as it was one of my favorites growing up. Either way, great job on this video. I’ve been watching a lot of your Rock Raiders content, and its started making me interested in trying it out for myself. (Though I’ll always be partial to Power Miners, as I had the Thunder Driller as a kid.)

  7. 3:14 it's hard to tell, but that v1.1 of Jet looks like a guy, so I'm really glad the final version is more feminine. More female rock raiders please, I have to use my Alpha squad and paradisa minifigures to make up the gender gap
P.s. the scorpions are just as legit as the slimey slugs :p as a kid I thought at first RR took place on earth because of all the earth like animals in the game (bats, slugs, spiders, ect) but eventually I realized it was like a mirror earth in another galaxy. I like how the rock monsters were originally meant to be more Doom like, with demonic horns and scorpion tails of their own. and I think I remember reading somewhere that there are ruins of an ancient civilization both on the surface and in certain levels underground, so after I finish the section I'm on now I want to make a "ruined city" level
