the imperial fists are using terminator armor. you would never see that many using it unless it was the gray knights
The imperial fists are in terminator armor, it's pretty much better space marine armor.

The Imperial Fist are in Terminator armor and the have Storm Shields, and Power Swords. The Legion of the Damned have Thunder Hammers. Which is typically what Terminators with Storm Shield have hence the acronym TH/SS (Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields)
Are you not able to edit the Salamanders stats to bring them up to par with the rest of the Space Marines?
Those Imperial fists are in Terminator armour aka Tactical dreadnaught armour, basically slow/tanky armour, the rest are just in standard armour , it's why they seem so big in comparison

I guess you should have modified salamanders with flame bolters instead of normal bolters because they mostly use flamers
I'm sure there's a lore answer to the Imperial Fist's size (terminator armor). But there's one thing you should realise about Warhammer 40K. Any question starting with "Why" can be answered with "Because it's cool" or "Because it's awesome". Because in the end, that's what WH40K is all about. Units beeing totally bonkers – and awesomely cool.
The Imperial Fists are the Only Astartes Chapter trusted with the Defence of Terra(Earth).
During the Horus Heracy they fended off multiple other Space Marine Chapters and defended the Emperor well proving their undying loyalty to the Emperor and the Empire of Man
They are known for their defensive prowess during sieges, being trusted and deployed to defend sieges and deal with untenable situations and conduct last stands to change the tide of battle.
They wield Shields and Blaster Rifles, but in this mod they wield their swords

Daley you should use the cadian guardsman with the kriegsmarines , or put the cadians with the salamanders. Salamanders are supposedly saviors of battles and friends of humans, so it would be cool if you put them far in the back with guardsman and have them "come to the rescue" from the back lines instead of having them in the siege itself

Love the battles and never want to see the zombies win but when it doesn’t go as you want you always buff the defenders and never the attackers so the second part is always a foregone conclusion which is always a little disappointing.
Maybe I was hyped up by Pariah Nexus. Sa'Kan was so cool, but here his brothers are so weak!
The Salamanders range well. They will run backwards while shooting the enemy. Ultramarines just sit there when the enemy charges them. If you are not letting the Salamanders RANGE you are eliminating their best asset.
The Tactical Dreadnought Armour or Terminator armour worn by the Imperial Fists there is actually incredibly rare in the 41st millennium, back sure the Great Crusade 10,000 years ago it was not uncommon for legions to deploy an entire company of Terminators as the Veteran 1st Company, due to the Horus Heresy the Standard Template Construct (STC) module was lost causing the widespread use and supply of Terminator armour to become scarce, causing chapters to use them more for defensive holding, or ship to ship boarding, as they are pretty much a walking tank, so on a ship they are deadly, nice to see you deploying the Fists in the correct manor 😊 I do wonder though why the Salamanders are visibly smaller than all other Marine units, considering they are normal massive in the books haha 🤣
