Can a foreign force restore order in Haiti? | Inside Story

Haiti is running out of food and fuel as gangs control the streets.
Haiti’s government is appealing for an international force to combat the gangs, a call echoed by the UN Secretary-General and the US But any external force is a reminder of multiple American military interventions and many in Haiti oppose the proposal.
The country is still reeling from a series of shocks over the past 12 years. They include earthquakes, hurricanes, cholera, gang violence and a political vacuum left by the assassination of President Jovenel Moise last year.

  1. We as Dominicans wants haiti to be good and restore law n order in that country we dont want to force haitians back to their country what we want is the international community to fix the issues and Goverment that provided to the people of haiti not keep taking all sources away from them they're our neighbors and we cant carried them as country we can only help them as we been doing for decades but they not going to come and destroy our country like they did to their own country thats NOT HAPPENING OK. France its to blame USA its to blame but they also have the sources to fix it. Not DOMINICAN REPUBLIC THATS NOT OUR PROBLEM WE HAVE OUR OWN ISSUES OK. WE WILL DEFEND AND PROTECTION OF OUR BORDERS. WE DOMINICANS NOT HAITIANS WAY TO DIFFERENT CULTURE SO NOOOO NEVER WE WILL FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY WITH ANY OTHER THAT TRIES TO DO SOMETHING.

  2. NO!!!!! The ISA has tried three times going back 100 years! No foreign troops for Haiti! Tell them it is time for them to figure it out themselves and get it together. They have to own it or it will NEVER change!

  3. The foreign force is none but trouble makers, the west creates gangs in Haiti to unstable Haiti, the west is behind all violence, chaos, crises and gangs in Haiti, Haitians don't manufacture guns, where those guns come from? God takes note of the ugliness from the west, the karma is on earth, what goes around comes around

  6. "A COUNTRY LIKE HAITI, 31 MILLION DOLLARS IS HUGE SOME." LAURENT LAMORT. He was the former prime Minister who stole more than 31 millions from Petro Caribbe funds. These so called politicians are so corrupt. They all contribute to what Haiti is in today.

  7. I believe that another nation can and should solve the problem in Haiti.. maybe people of hatie should solve the problem with the help of the UN, and the other elite who already have plans for a one world government. But the only people who can solve it. Is the Haitians themselves.

  8. I am tired hearing of the inefficiencies and no REAL help for the people of Haiti. Too many crooks and deceptive heads of the organizations who say they are helping while they are only helping themselves while the people suffer. In this day and age no clean running water a basic necessity for life
    Who is responsible?

  10. The thing i don't understand to countries being colonized before is that they are always blaming their colonizers after being independent 50 years or more for their miserable life. What have you done to your country after your independence, the more you destroyed it. Blame your corrupt government not others who gave you freedom today. Let's accept the reality that the rich control the poor because they have means to do it. Ex. US, China, Russia, European Countries, ect.. these countries control the world.

  12. Is Haiti asking for the UN or are the UN and USA volunteering to "help" and the Haitians are protesting because the UN has allowed USA to puppetize the present political leader? Didn't the UN Peacekeepers and US armed "helpers" leave diseases and unclaimed babies in Haiti the last time they were there? Is it really help they came to help? What help was achieved? Since the US involvement haven't more Haitians been leaving the country as the economy has gotten worse while the Clinton Foundation remains there?

  13. France is the problem in Haiti. France drained Haiti from humane to inhumane. How can a country pay for liberating itself from the clinging claws of slavery. Remember this, Haitians are not stupid and that will be the biggest problem in the future.
