Calling DIBS

Yes, we got referees for this one.

How to play: There’s no videos so I took this description from the website: Ultimate Dibs is an area control team party game where your team is trying to connect categories one-at-a-time by calling dibs on things that match in the grid. Tokens are placed on the cards to indicate who is currently in control. If the opposing team disagrees, a vote is taken to uphold that spot. If the active team loses the challenge, their turn immediately ends. The goal is to lock in three spaces orthogonally or diagonally before the other team to win the game.

  1. I actually think blood could've worked very well because Religious (blood of Christ), Ninja, Halloween, Farm things (often you have to kill animals, also the machinery can be dangerous), pirate things, American things (has a lot of blood on it's hands, "red blooded american" is a saying), doesn't contain "A", and I think you could make the argument for Restaurant since blood (like pigs blood) is sometimes used for cooking

  2. Skates have blades, skating is considered a "winter" sport. You could argue a stretch about Canadian ice hockey with that too. Glad you guys are playing this game and not me I'd get too lost in the sauce arguing details! 😅

  3. This says way more about me as an individual than about game choices, but games like this always stress me out even just to watch. Without any concrete rules to balance out the squishy rules it usually just boils down to semantical arguments. Nothing wrong with arguing semantics but in a game setting it’s a buzzkill. For me at least.
