California High-Speed Rail Funded, Amtrak Returns to Canada, "EMD GEVO" | This Month on the Railroad

Hi. I’m Sam, a railfan based out of Eastern Massachusetts. I film trains from all around the world and make narrated videos explaining how the railroad works. Thanks for watching and I’ll see you out on the mainline!

  1. The Walt Disney Company would have been crazy to allow the project to proceed with the alignment that is being proposed.

My expectation is that Brightline ultimately eschews the third station in the Orlando area and reverts to a two-station configuration.

  2. There is more to the Disney Brightline story than has been reported. It has been rumoured that this is a consequence of the Disney Corporation's political differences with the Florida Government.

  3. Thats another 4.2 billion of taxpayers money wasted on a train between two cities that hardly anybody will use, and will probably never be built. Its a crime led by our government which our children and grandchildren will suffer to pay for.

  5. It would be great if Amtrak let people know what it is doing. I drove to Canada because the Maple Leaf was not running past the border and was not expected to start again until late fall. When I returned, I found that service had resumed the day before I left. There was absolutely no information about this when I tried to make an online reservation a week before.

  6. CAHSR always had that $4.2 billion. That's bond money. How and where to spend it within the CAHSR corridor was held up in the state legislature while politicians in southern California maneuvered, trying to get it spent in the L.A. basin. Those aren't new funds.

  7. I was finally able to watch this episode of TMOTRR. While I had heard of some of this news, it’s nice to get these recaps and all the news I didn’t hear. Looking forward to the next episode. Nice work.

  8. You didn’t mention anything about how that funding for the California High Speed Rail go towards constructing new train sets, electrifying the link, and setting tracks down as soon as 2023. This was a huge step for us it WILL get complete, and is full steam ahead. California is the only state in America building a true high speed rail from SCRATCH. Not using existing infrastructure that is beat up by cargo trains. This will allow trains to travel 220 mph, with the possibility of top speeds reaching 242 mph. It’s in the environmental impact report. I’m surprised so much information was left out on a good portion of your videos about CAHSR.
