  1. I completely disagree about his stage presence; the host is simply that, a host, it's nice that he doesn't try to get all gimmicky; the simplicity and humility to the directors shine is amazing. Honestly, I looked forwarded to when he would show us the next director and carved figure he'd present. It was really well done and better than some of the contemporary anthologies.

  2. Episode 7 was the most pretentious and boring one… cause it’s long and the script is just awful… every character just says artsie fartsie crap for no reason whatsoever for about 50 minutes of a 1hour long episode.

  3. Lovecraft was a racist, but he recanted. It was less that he was a hateful bigot, and more than he was an awkward kid who didn't have a father and was scared of the world. Read Thing on the Doorstep, basically an autobiography. He wasn't the originator of the cosmic horror genre, he just made it pulpy and added tentacles. It started with more vague concepts and unknowable mysteries.

Good series, my roommates were transfixed instead of listening to headphones while gaming.

This had a great version of Pickman's model. Terrible New England accent for Glover, sounded like a pirate at times.

  4. regarding del Toro's intros: I assume he probably knows he lacks stage presence and that's why the intros are kept short. But his name is helping to sell the show so he's still gotta do it.

  5. I felt every episode was somewhat having call backs to other episodes. First 2 like they said had 2 people owing debt and devil worship, the next 2 had to do with dead bodies and scalpels and the episode after thet even had a scalpel aiming for the same part of a body as the previous. And there's much more.

  6. Korey: Question
    Martin: Thoughtful response.
    Korey: Im getting to that
    Martin: …
Korey: Repeats Martins Response with video

Hmmm maybe provide show notes ahead of time?

  7. Each episode was too. damn. long. I think some of them could have been cut down to the length of a Twilight Zone episode. That is my ONLY real complaint. You could tell everyone was giving 100%. The directors were directing their asses off. The actors were acting their asses off. The cinematographers were….cinementographying their asses off. Set design. Wardrobe. Sound design. Seriously, everyone was on point. I love that CG was used sparingly and effectively. My top 3 are The Autopsy, Graveyard Rats, and The Murmering.
