Iβve got a OTC snap ring plier set
10 years of every day work, highly recommended.
Great work!!
Glad you guys are who you are!! Iβd have a barbecue with you any day!!
Oh no! Whats in the box? Good job getting it apart.
Knipex snap ring pliers are awesome!
Thatβs exactly correct youβre encouraging me to get out and do it. Thank you so much. I love watching your channel. Everybody has struggles everyone struggling now including me, but Iβm telling you you guys inspire me a lot.
Live Learn Grow Love. Some of us forget to Love
Knipex snap ring plyers is the way to go. They out perform my snap one and are aligned way better than the snap-on.
I thought your shop was on the same property as your house. I'm confused. Oh wait, are living elsewhere while your house gets redone?
You guys rock!!
You need a good set of flat ended napring pliers they are very easly to use.
Man, it's great to see how much more positive Aaron has become. Even better, is how you two play off each other. Great project, another great video!
You are to little to be a wieght. For the back of the tractor.
Emily sure wish you would purchase a impact swivle
Aaron reminds me of me. I have the same work etics. It has always worked out pretty good for me.
I like the way you fix things .your a good man .be proud of your self ,you wife is , you can see the way she looks at you
And another great episode! I enjoyed the step by step, great advise to not let Negative Nelly & Barney get you down and steer your life… just take a step forward and work!
You are learning and laughing lots – Great job!!
23:30 thatβs your final drive gear that aligns in the crank.
Sorry but maybe you shouldnt have bought the car.
Really nice transmission? Call Garrett and see if he still has one Leroy's old built transmissions. Maybe you could make a deal.
Leroy was converted to a front transmission and Ford 9 inch, so he's no longer using the stock style transmission.
I'm 65, and I always had to make do with what I had on hand. I never had complaints from anyone on a job I did. There is always more than 1 way to do a job. Like watching you work.
Thanks again outstanding πππππππππππππππ
That damages from heavy downshifting high RPM heavy downshifting because once you've already got it in gear it synchronize so doing a burnout is not going to blow the Synchro out if that were the case it would be second gear cuz your your synchronizing and grabbing the next year
Remember how it goes back together? Rerun tape.
Aaron's tractor stunts are the best! You guys are having so much fun, doesn't matter what the project is.
Aaron, don't let anyone bag on you. You have a successful channel that is awesome to watch,. A lovely assistant and down to earth personality. We love that you do things like us "common folks". You dont flaunt the new stuff you have, and we can see the appreciation you two have for the things you've earned from your hard work. Keep on keepin on. This is why you guys and VGG are the only channels my lady will watch with me.
That ol' Deere def needs a lil' more ass.
Another GREAT episode! Thanks!
Those C clips look alot like the ones on the input shaft on Eaton transmission in semis. They make pliers designed to remove them.
Biggest worry for me these days is finding that transmission guy you found, those are getting far and few that say"" bring it to me in a box i can figure it out". When something dies my brother and me let the kids take it apart just so they use a screwdriver, pliers ETC. as long as It all goes in the trash when they are done. I enjoy watching you two work together, my wife and I enjoy doing things together but tearing a transmission apart might be the limit.
Try Knipex. Little pricey but excellent quality.
Most people have never worked in a large shop in a big town. They donβt have a clue the things that they do in those shops to get things done. It is always by the book and it is always with the right tool.
A good set of snap ring pliers makes a world of difference. Matco made a great set but no longer sells them. So if your ok with used tools, look for part number βserr3tβ. I have a set and used to use them in aviation work. They are great. Enjoying the content btw, keep up the great work, at your own pace.
Ride it hang on aaron
YOU 2 are just too fun to watch. I learned the way Aaron did. I pulled a 170 CID engine out of a 61' Falcon and rebuilt it using a Chilton 5 in. thick book with all kinds of stuff in it. I was 17 at the time. Later on, I rebuilt a wreck of a 64' TR-4 Triumph … loved that car … but health kind of stepped in. But … like ya'll … learned a lot. Enjoy …
The 5/6 cluster is supposed to be a press fit, likely will need an output shaft or the company you spoke to may be able to weld up and grind yours for repair. Common problem with all t56.
Corvette T56 used trans are usually 1/2 to 1/3 the price of other T56 because of their unique parts. Can't use them in anything besides a Corvette, not as universal, less demand, cheaper trans. Used will probably have the same problems as yours tho.
The broken input shaft is 4th gear; direct drive or 1:1. You will need to set preload on your new input shaft bearing, hardest part of putting a T56 back together. If you have a dial indicator and a set of shims you can do the build yourself. The little diesel engine you just put together is more difficult than that t56. You got this.
Txdrivetrain is the place to go for parts. But you already know.
Great video π I learned on used parts and make do with the tools you got also. Keep up the the good work.

Thatβs exactly what I said Aaron needed to do with that cummins block.
Water/antifreeze in the back tires would accomplish the same thing though
First – the properly hung American Flag looks AMAZING!!!
Second – i'd be scared shitless to take apart manual transmission that deep LOL. GREAT WORK!!!
Make sure those rubbers at the both ends of the drive shaft are in good condition. Replacing now will be s job saver later ππππ
I like the stacking idea….but I know how stuff happens for me; so I will, from now on, stack on a long bolt through a 4×4….far less likely to tip over, get knocked over, etc, etc.
