Have to agree with Will, I have no love for Goose as a character. I hesitantly picked this bottle up last week from Total Wine on an impulse for $80. I had been thinking about taking it back, but now I'm glad I didn't return it.
Just bought a couple of bottles of Heaven's Door Cask Strength – Straight Bourbon Whiskey at 122.4 proof with corn – 80%; rye – 10%; and malt – 10%. It is made from both our own distilled barrels and sourced barrels. Paid $55 a bottle with tax.
This was a store pick. Wouldn't have touched it do to the big name. Asked the store owner for a low rye whiskey to give as gifts. He suggested this and a cask strength Maker's Mark. As this is a store pick, he had an open bottle to give samples. This is seriously nice and worth the price.
Haven’t seen this 10 yr bottle. I have some left from Bob’s 10 yr release a few years ago. Just tried it again watching this video. Have to say it’s better than I remember.
