Great interview? Any chance of getting an unedited version of this on your 2nd channel? Also Billy’s?
Would love to see you interview Trevor Horn!
If Cobain lost his voice singing certain songs, how could he perform live?
This is the kind of interview that I've always dreamed of. A real conversation. Love it Rick!
Spooner. Perfect Wisconsin band name
Legendary interview wow …. Butch Vig what a career as a musician and producer. Great job Rick! Great job 👏🏽
Great stuff, but why all the commercial breaks if you can't monetize the video?
A Legend and so humble. What a wealth of memories and recording genius. Great interview! Thank you Rick!
Who produced Mellon Collie, and did he feel hurt when Nirvana and Pumpkins changed producers?
It's funny how I always thought 'I'm on a plane' was very Beetles like song and it's Rick's favorite ; maybe that's why he likes it.
Rick, you need to do a Garbage WMTSG… Only Happy When it Rains
Awesome!! Thank you!
Rick, AS ALWAYS SUCH AN AWESOME INTERVIEW.
What a fucking legend.
LOVED IT!!!!! I watched it from start to finish and at the end I wanted MORE!!!!! Can't wait for the Daniel Lanois interview!!!!!
Sorry to comment on an artist other than Butch but i don’t know (and cannot find) where You have ever spoken of Dan Fogelberg. Maybe you can do a piece on him. So Sorry Butch for butting in on your conversation with Rick. It was unintended but also important.
What a great interview! I remember the room at Triclops and that Neve 8088 (I think that was the model)…the grand piano there that Lynyrd Skynyrd played on a live album way back. I interned there during the Matchbox20 album and a band named Muse (1995-96). Jon Neilsen took me in at Triclops for about a year until I moved…what an awesome guy. If I had been there a few years earlier I would have been there during the Pumpkins album 🙂
Butch Vig is a legend
This was such an interesting interview Rick! I would love to see you interview Brian Eno to hear him talk about his production and solo work. It would also be super fascinating for you to get Jerry Cantrell on. We need to see some Alice in Chains interviews on here! I think it would be fascinating to hear his thoughts on each record and also his solo work (which is amazing).
Rick asking producing questions that only he and other producers care about, for an hour. What a wasted opportunity
Great video
Best interview I've seen in a long time.
As far as songwriting, I tend to think Cobain picked up where Lennon left off with Norwegian Wood. Firey sardonic nihilistic and cheeky.
Well after the BC interview this is excellent
This one is great. Nice!
Hey Rick, how about doing something of a tribute to the guitar master, Jeff Beck. Showing the evolution and changes in his playing starting with the Yardbirds through to the 70's fusion albums, Blow By Blow and Wired, through to GuitarShop?
Wish they had more time to talk about Garbage because that’s as fine a band as any other of those they talked about.
Butch! My hero!!!
I could watch you guys air drum all day long. Please let there be a part 2 Rick! Legends.
I'm only happy when it rains… and there's a new interview with Rick!
Great interview. Right up there with the your talk with Sting. Thank you
What an absolute treasure! Thank you Rick!
Butch Vig's best work was with Killdozer and The Laughing Hyenas. Just listen to Snakeboy, 12 Point Buck, Life of Crime, You Can't Pray a Lie or Merry-Go-Round. That is how a band should sound on record.
Siamese Dream is still the best album I've heard. Subjective I know, but it does something to me.
Great great great interview!
Cosmic Psychos.
Awesome interview! Love the interviews you do! Will you or could you do a video on your opinion of Atmos, and if it will be the new standard?
This interview is solid gold!
I could listen to you guys for hours! I don’t know why but I loved this!
One more point: I saw Garbage on the Tears For Fears tour here in Phoenix last summer. Garbage absolutely killed it!! Just mind-blowing!
Kurt's Mesa Boogie setup was a Studio Preamp rack through a 295 Stereo Simul-Class power amp. Early 80's gear.
Rock is not dead…listen to the new Lil Yachty song…yes, Lil #$@& Yaughty!…who channels Pink Floyd…yes, Pink #$@& Floyd!
