That perma-snooze box at 3:17 is the definition of over complicating something so it can be described as new and groundbreaking. One of those bed designs (before the comical animation where the occupant is eaten alive) shows what looks like a heavily reinforced frame that would actually protect you from falling debris. That in itself does not seem like a terrible idea for people living in outdated buildings on fault lines. But simply having reinforced steel bed frame, would be too similar to… a bed frame (i.e. something that would be almost impossible to patent and any well established furniture company or metal fabricator could produce now).
For gyro “bus”.
There was a concept of gyro bus in 1940 that used giant flywheel to store energy for electric motors instead of battery. Well, it was evens used for some time.
One of the concerns was safety of giant heavy flywheel going rogue if crash occurred. Which would be horror in heavy traffic I guess
So in a sense, America are trying to solve traffic and public transportation? The thing that the rest of the world had sorted out 75 years ago through careful planning of residential and commercial, infrastructure and public transportation. And these are the best ideas e.g hyper loop, pods, underground Tesla car parks for 5 cars, impractical buses, ohh and no trains. The rest of the world can only sit back and laugh. Oh, the simple minds of Americans are all for the world to see.

Not sure you have the physics right for the gyroscope stuff. A gyroscope spinning on a vertical axis relative to the ground should have no problem following a track around a corner, it will behave like a spinning top in a groove. Still a stupid idea though, no doubt about that.
