I react to Bungie’s horrible choice in making ALL content -5 and adding surges…

  1. People keep saying that survivability is worse now, but I don't see it. This isn't aimed at new players, but rather at the experienced ones who are complaining. I think many people simply don't know how to mod up correctly.

  2. We’re back to artificial difficulty and the old numbers game. It isn’t new. It’s the only way Bungie can make the game harder without putting in extra work. It will be interesting to see how things go. I’m already back to the old check in on Tuesday and no a few things and move on. My outside life is too fulfilling from a family standpoint to mindlessly grind through bungies little difficulty games.

  3. Also i think your slightly wrong on the community your taking a small vocal minority and saying they will kick you for griefing, I've met more nice people than toxic people…. i meet like 1 maybe 2 people per week and compared to other games that isn't bad xD

  4. Light level in raids were never an issue. The community complained that raids were too easy because every mechanic in them could be done by 1-2 people in 90% of encounters. Salvations Edge is one of the hardest raids ever because everyone has a role. There have been less people to beat this raid in 2 1/2 weeks than all of day one root of nightmares. Bungie's balance team introducing artificial difficulty with surges is just lazy which is so weird after how much effort they put into the new raid.

  5. Also for anyone wondering, i'm a veteran raider, currently 2000 cap, with almost 3 salvations' edge weapons crafted (= im invested). -5 sucks balls even for a vet like me. it does NOT make the game unplayable, just makes its more annoying to use anything but meta surge weapons.

  6. With Prismatic and the ease of stacking buffs its now easier than ever to ramp damage up for any weapon you're using. Bungie obviously is concerned about Endgame loadouts skewing the damage and DPS profiles… just look at what people are doing with Nighthawk Hunters and StillHunt. The fact is that it's easier than ever to pump up any damage you do. If you want to support new lights then teach how to damage stack. More complaining isn't helping. People just gon' complain regardless of what changes are made.

  7. Bungie made destiny newbie friendly and guess what ppl complained of how easy it was and now it’s more towards veterans because it’s the Damm final shape this is for us but here we are complain complain

  8. idk im number 7 in the world for sherpas on this new raid. i love it. not hard or bad. im a big believer that u shouldnt do sherpas unless u can genuinely carry dmg and do every job rlly well

  9. I can guarantee you that this will be a moot conversation in about a month. What people are experiencing is an influx of returning players who insist that they still know the game even though they haven’t played since the launch of Lightfall and aren’t prepared for playing the game. That’s not a bad thing at all, it’s just the sheer impatience from both parties to sit down for 30 minutes and use the tools that are laid out to actually be prepared to kill things rather than playing with one hand while driving like what the norm used to be

  10. Feels good to see the elitist cry. zero reason to have surges that limit gameplay. Remember they tried that with prestige in raid lairs by forcing you to use specific weapons and no one liked that.

  11. “idk why bungie is trying to alienate new players” i’ll tell you why.
let me start with this, the Salvation’s Edge raid is the crown jewel of Destiny 2. Everything we’ve done as a guardian in the past 10 years has led to this moment. so it’s a pretty huge moment. I feel like it’d be a waste if the mechanics were just average. Give us the ultimate challenge because to our guardians, this is the hugest challenge. Fighting the Witness? Thats crazy. Thats insane. so I feel like the mechanics being so difficult is justified lore-wise.

And also, no one said that the raid needed to be new player friendly. I don’t think it should be new player friendly. That’s literally the end of the saga right there. There are plenty of other raids at our disposal not to mention a lot of dungeons.
and it’s not like I don’t understand, I refuse to Sherpa anyone through that raid unless I know every single blueberry in there is a seasoned raider. And anyone can be a seasoned raider by doing the other raids! Don’t bring a new raider to the very end of the saga.

  12. Filfthy casual here, i shouldn't have to spend my life getting meta loadouts for each element for basic raid. It's obvious master raids are for challenge which i don't do and don't try to change. I think i have a right to play basic raids, i've got some meta weapons and i'm glad surges are gone so whateva i choose to play with is not going to be consider throwing.

  13. dawg, the community never ceases to surprise me. shorties out here cappin about people doing basic raids and they aint evan doin master content. They cryin about removing surges but cry about master content bein too hard fr. destiny community full of elitist gatekeepers who ain't gotta no love in da lives. Go touch a woman's body cus.

  14. The power changes that they did isn't just a raid issue it's just difficult content issue because they went from being below by 20 to below by 35 so nightfalls legendary campaigns I can keep going hell even Dungeons and exotic missions

  15. honestly I dont feel neg 5 at all. i dont really see it at all but the surges being removed is a good thing, surges have forced loadouts for a long time. as for the master raid comments, master raids arnt even really harder, but the issue normally was that its just not worth it. no reason to run them, enhanced perks on adepts were a huge W for that. im not saying the -5 was needed I just dont notice the changes at all. but its mostly because im a sweat as you mentioned, the main playerbase is horrible at the game and its really weird to me that like, for years destiny has been catering to the new players being able to complete things, and now they make changes that 1, dont really affect high level play. but 2, destroys new player experience. it was an odd change ill give it that for sure.

  16. I think bungie should quit listening to streamers making the game to hard on normal mode just steering a lot of my friends away again that don’t play as hardcore as I do

  17. I did the Last wish day one and can't stand how that asshole compared it to how raids are right now
98% of raiders come for the loot and now there's Lfgs that requires exact builds and hunters with SH
Raids are gated by 2 main things
1 people with the right gear
    2 puzzles
Now there's even less of number 1 in an already small pot
Overall people don't know/how to use the best build for a boss so new players still do only 500k at the end with +25% dam modeifer
And guess what? The loot hasn't changed so your doing all this for 4 year old gear worse than the current new hotness

  18. Not sure if it’s the high pitch voice or the cringy criticizing, but watching the video annoyed me. I agreed with it, but it still annoyed me. I also hit the like button for the algorithm or whatever. 🫡

The new player experience is already horrifying and adding a feature or mechanic that tilts the scales to very specific subclasses is restricting, never fun, and unappealing.

I never liked the introduction of surges or liked champions…yes champions. I’ve always felt I had to use specific weapons and subclasses since these came out. And it just pushed me further into PvP.

  19. Yup Can't even carry people through old legendary content as raid rules are now in effect. In legendary campaigns you get one rez per person. The game is fastly becoming trash.

  20. I didn't buy the DLC (Final Shape) cause I knew that once the luster of the new things (Prismatic, Exotic Class Items, New archetype of weapons, etc) wore off, then we'd be stuck with the same old Destiny.

  21. as someone who has gotten the 10+ carries for the emblem and has done even more runs since then, I can say with full certainty that if they change the light level nothing would change. people bashed root for 90% of the raid being ad clear so bungie responded appropriately by making 90% of salvation be mechanics. throughout all of the runs I've done, I've only seen people die to the mechanics whether it be the final shape timer or being physically incapable of dodging the witnesses beam attacks. a lot of people have been using the light level and surges as an excuse for actually having to participate in the raid for once instead of fighting for the ad clear role. If you are truly a sherpa, your job should be to actually teach the mechanics, not put someone on ad clear and carry them through the raid. give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
