I can see why Savathun wiped them out. From what I understand of her psychology, such a symbiotic relationship would be an anathema and would creep her out as 'wrong'.
Savathun does not want to be part of something else.
She does not like her identity being subsumed by another and doesn't want others being subsumed either.

The qugu are also the main perspective in the polychroma space ship lore tab but from their pov rather than the hive
To those who ask where the lorebook came from: You get one page for ending Act 1. It`s a bug (you probably should get them with finishing Act 2 and 3), but when you finish Act 1 with your other characters, you will get the rest.

At 6:45 it's important to not that it's deified not defied. Meaning it's not just a symbiotic relationship, it's a worship of these mollusks as deities or gods. Adds more to the idea that these mollusks are worshiped and the visions they give to the Qugu would be like that of a prophet receiving visions from a god. A Destiny Earth equivalent could be like that of the Traveler and the Speaker if the Traveler spoke or delivered visions to the Speaker. I love that we're getting more about the Darkness and we're learning about this species that used the darkness in a harmonic manner. Thanks so much for the breakdown of this info, I would have never guessed we'd get something like this if I didn't find you video! I'm really hoping that they steer the game towards our focus against the Winnower as time goes on.
