  1. If you use bricks of lesser height than your stones all around, could that be enough gaps to be the airflow for a "smokeless" setup – provided you drill some holes in the ring?

  2. 811 does not locate septic systems. If you have an onsite septic system hire someone to locate exact location of all components. Permit records from the county offices are usually not accurate for location.
Licensed septic Inspector primarily doing real-estate transactions with thousands of septic inspections under my belt. I see damage to septic systems as well as structures built over them all the time, even on those who pulled permits.

  3. What an awesome video! TY. Just starting my Firepit and got some very helpful tips from this. I looked at the retaining wall stones at Home Depot. Good price and large but I found the rear lip to be a deal breaker. It makes the stacked layers off level and I’m not about to start chipping them away lol. Used other bricks instead. One tip I would share from past experience of working with gravel for drainage….wrap the gravel in some weed block then bury it. Will prevent the dirt from compacting between the gravel over time and defeating the drainage capability. Back at the build tomorrow morning bright and early. Lol. I really hate the ground leveling part.

  4. Great video. Already to go. I have ordered the fire ring online. Need help with material HD list. I took notes and of coarse home depot online search list is causing problems. "EG. 12" retaining wall brick and I got backsplash wall samples".Do you have sku# of all material or proper search list terminology. I'd like to order all in one shot.

  5. I've looked at this pleasant hearth ring. Pictures show it to have screws on top of the flange, but nobody that uses it in their video has those screws or holes on top of the flange….

  6. I just put free field stones in a circle in my backyard. I never have to clean out ash. It naturally just decomposes down and I garnished the outside of the pit with free sea shells.
I call it "Life without a home owners association"

  7. I'm looking to either use reclaimed bricks I can find online or cast my own bricks to save money. Is there particular materials that will save more money but won't exode like I've read concrete bricks tend to do?

  8. Thank you for this video and showing the struggles on the way! 🤦‍♂️🤣 I watch other videos and when it doesn’t go as planned I’m over there getting frustrated at my self and wondering why others are able to get it done but my project is stonewalled! 🤣💁‍♂️ pun intended!

  9. Quite informative and Interesting build. Now to another issue – as a non-native English speaker I am curious to know why most Americans tend to pronounce the indefinite article "a" with an "ei" sound (instead of the the pronounciation "uh" we're being taught at school). Has it something to do with the region where you live, or is it just some new trend? Yes, I of course know that the letter "A" is pronounced "ei", but the indefinite article isn't. Or? 🤔

  10. All you need to do for smoke-less is leave a few gaps in your bottom layer, use those spacer bricks. Then when you drop in your pre-drilled insert in everything is smoke-less.
