After stripping Martin the Impreza’s engine down to bare bones, Mike and the guys from Pole Position set about building the flat-four engine back up, but stronger and more powerful than ever. Aiming for 500hp, Martin gains some upgraded bits that should see him become an absolute weapon.

My favourite Drivetribe video so far! Love this level of learning processes
Why haven't you taken over top gear instead of the guy from friends a cricketer an a date agent guy loll
I didn't expect the need for crank upgrade especially for 500hp range.
Air filter is wrong way round.
Really nice and entertaining video. There’s just so many things wrong building that engine it’s heartbreaking…
Billet crank with still a open deck layout ? Just wrong… ring gap? Literally none existent… 0.018 is way to tight combined with the open deck layout + the grinding with the handfile ? I understand now why UK engines blow to pieces getting viral on the net after seeing that …
stock downpipe…. tf not even sports cats….
you guys are spot on now with this format! nicely calm explenation, a bit of musica le montage. shout out to the edit squat behind this… keep this up please
.
this is genuinely such an incredible and informative series. i absolutely love geeking out on this
Wow. At 4:07. What a quality looking part. 😂😂😂🤮🤮🤮
im just curious as to why a billet crank? a standard black nitrated crank from a newer STi will handle well over 600hp
This is so so satisfying to watch! Boxer engines are such a cool piece of engineering and when the weaknesses of the EJ engines are addressed, they are very formidable little horsepower producers! Love this build series guys and love the attention to detail you guys show in this. Also, the gentlemen at Pole Position, you can tell he really enjoys his profession and that's something to be admired as well! 🫶🏻🤙🏻
P.S. It will be so much fun watching Richard or James launch a 2000hp gtr
Use to much silicon sealing the block
Whys the K&N intake pipe look like its been welded by a toddler?
Thank you!
I would 100% watch a show about Pole Position, the man's manner of speech gets you both invested in the topic and relaxed.
Why didn't you detail the engine and engine bay ? Looking forward to see what power it makes! Well done on the build .
