Just taking a break from my garden chores to watch you do yours. At 75 I have to use my little Mantis no pick ax to turn the soil. Just finished up last summers tomatoes in a delicious sauce. Freezing is a life saver. I love how welcoming the garden is to the kids. Always a nice feeling watching your videos.
I love your work ethic, for a young man to do all that he does with a such love and hard work is truly amazing to see these days. Keep it up family 👍👍👍👍
wow what a big job all that grass and tilling the ground lots of work but if you want something and want it bad you gotta do what you gotta do it's fun when you are doing what you love for family i love outdoors, smell of the earth grass fresh cut cool air blowing beautiful flower growing GOD BLESS
Love being here with the family to see the result of the family’s future efforts. Truly a joy! The teepees are spectacular. And the growing plants are so carefully weeded.
Your gardens are SO pretty! Dreamy really!! What tool do you use to cut your rows? Wonderful job!! Black Walnut trees produces yummy Walnuts. We collected many last year from our property. They are great in desserts and even some savory dishes.
Love the Holt energy. Tipis are usually started with 3 poles tied together, set upright, then more poles added then all tied together.Maybe next year. You got it done.
Love your work ethics Love your videos Love your content Ben you must have a back of Steel mine hurts when I see you packing and pulling all that heavy stuff
Plant friendly transplanting weather is often not human friendly planting weather. Cool, cold, over cast, and rain are often plant friendly transplanting weather.
Is that a 12 pound matlock? If not keep your eyes open while putting aside a little 12 pound mattock fund; they aren't too terribly expensive but, upto closer to $100 than $19.99 or $29.99. I don't know if you can still find a new, 15 pound mattock but they do appear at yard, garage, and moving sales from time to time.
I like to string tee-pees with an opening towards the morning sun wide enough for my shoulders to fit then densely scatter sow a salad mix into the center (carefully weed at the onset then hope the salad mix squeezes out weeds); if not a salad mix, something you only reach with a pair of scissors and clip off to harvest. If the strings and beans provide a dense canopy, a whole different and cooler micro climate develop under the canopy.
Do keep thinking of where to place your own "rock quary" or piles of rocks of different sizes. I don't think the entire family could remove all the rocks if each worked 40 hours a week for a life time. But there will come a time that you will likely want to remove at least some of the rocks in the assorted areas; don't worry, I think your soils will continue to grow rocks or bring them to the surface for a while to come. Meanwhile, it seems that the more you touch, dig, uncover, and pry rocks from the ground the more rock based projects and uses seem to enter into the brain. It is often not uncommon to actually seek rocks before it is all said and done. Having some rocks piled in a single location rather than in puddles along the way throughout your space makes these brain fueled idea come to fruition more readily.
Oh my you are going to have a wonderful garden. You should have a bumper crop of veggies for canning. Can't wait to see how everything works out. Good luck with everything and take care 😘.
Nice new garden. The tiepies look great with the walnut in the back. Keep it, by the way, just research "walnut guild" and plant that stuff below and around it. 😉
The following video shows you Darrell's Tipi for growing beans. Take the time to watch especially the beginning of the video. He has several tipis on his property: the/his trick is to first put a strong center-pole (he was lucky and used an old tree) I think he nails the bamboos to that center-pole and makes it really storm-strong, with an entrance on one side to reap the beans from the inside. It will not cost you much time to re-do yours, it pays. I think your bamboo-sticks are long enough to make the tipi bigger. Kaye Kittrell is visiting Darrell. Both very interesting persons. See Kaye' videos. I am Swiss and live in Zurich, I have no garden but I enjoy videos. All the best. God bless you!
Love the teepees! I used to plant mammoth sunflowers early in a large circle, then plant beans around them. Once the flowers were done, I tied the tops together to make my teepee, and the birds would come and eat the sunflower seeds. I remember being young and willing to do things the hard way because I couldn't afford any other way, but that weed-whacking and digging was still a lot of work! Lord bless you all.
You need a tiller.
Love seeing the Wisconsin shirt

Maybe you can use those rocks to put on the edges of the rows? Enjoyed watching:)))

Ben! The human tiller!!!!
I agree better with family ..to work on garden 🪴 🌱🌱🌱🌱
We had rain for 2 days and it was great for plants and trees ( fruit)🌱🌱🌱
Fasten three on the ground, stand up, then add the remaining bamboo (poles)…works for us!
Like the teepee, looking forward in seeing just how the beans take to it and how full it gets. Keep planting!!!

I wonder how much 21-21-21 or 10-10-10 was used in the previous garden.

11 trays…yikes! A lot of work for sure. Your videos bring about a spirit of joy 😊
awesome garden coming
Looks like you have the beginnings of a good rock wall.
Yes 👍 family planting! And things want to grow😉👏
how's that turnip(?)patch in the woods doing?
If my childhood taught me anything… Brianne HATES odd numbers! I'm surprised she allowed this to take place in her garden.

Can you do a before and after video of the teepee and garden in like three months from now? So we can see how much grows!
