Dude didn’t seem like much of an expert…
Don’t think about when they leave you will have all this unused space. That space will be used when they come home with there families and a space for grand babies❤❤. I love watching this journey
Could you share what kind of supplements you take? Please! 🙏
You can see the determination in Lillys face that only comes in a female when they want to achieve something. She is very capable listen to her.
Solar is Dirty Green Energy made by slaves in China.
I would like to recommend house site number 1. Many reasons why, as your parents get older it becomes increasingly important to keep an eye on them. Also, when you get older, you can live in the smaller house and one of your kids can look after you at that site.
It already has a driveway and hook ups with an uphill well. So any improvements would also benefit your parents. Asking permission ro cut trees on the neighbors property is a very reasonable, probably easy successful thing.
When you talked about your new build, noone mentioned place ment of out buildings. I would think nearness to the house in the winter would be important.
Get hearing protection to all your kids when you use chainsaw!
Congratulations 👏 👏
Mr. & Mrs. Rhodes. you have such wonderful children…. each child as you both know have their gifts,,,,, please praise them…. your amazing
Very exciting, 🙏❤️
Solar panels are dependable on Sun…I would go with windmill if they have any wind up there (the wide one with vertical rotator…that kind runs even with small wind), plus buffor for heat storage to heat the house and water that would be powered by energy from the mill/panels and wood furnace/stove .
I was excited to hear the professionals explain the different options. I could barely hear anything they said. There was so much talking over them that the viewers can not understand their advice. I love this 100 day adventure but this episode was disappointing. It’s like they were the guest and we barely learned anything.
Good to see you set goals and limits for your kids so they need to be responsible to reach them before they get something they are working for. Maybe having to know where his shoes are could be part of it. Seems like that's been a struggle for years. Kids are all growing up and becoming great helpers.
I always sharpen my saw at the end of the day so it's ready for next cutting.
Rebecca said you have until February. Yes, I heard her.
We are in 24 hundred sq foot house. Not too big after children out of the house! If it’s laid out well…
why have u always got the baby on ur back, shouldnt he be with his mama? hope this doesnt soumd rude, im new to the homestead life
What if the milk sled was pulled by a horse? That would be cool. More fun and maybe cheaper than a tractor?

I suggest you take another look at your plans for the house you want to build. You might want to modify your plans to include newer techniques, beyond the timber frame. You can use some processes for providing a very well-insulated home that can reduce your energy consumption so that a solar array can provide the energy that you will be using. You might explore building with SIPs or ICF. Our @EastMarshAcres YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe2_sHRd9qcNeyRGwngdldg) shows what we are doing with ICF construction in Canada. We will be heating our new house, in a much colder climate than yours in NC, with the equivalent of a hair dryer embedded in the ground floor (slab on grade). I'm not sure why your consultants are recommending a basement. Is it really needed? By the way, we will be using a passive solar, initially in a net-metering configuration, to off-set our energy usage. So our house will be very close to a Passive Std. and also close to a Net Zero standard. I'd be happy to talk with you about your plans.
