  1. During the play, if a player goes out of bounds on his own (ie. without being bumped or pushed by a defender) he cannot be the first player to touch the ball. So, in this instance, if the Dallas receiver (Gallup) had gone out of bounds, he would be an ineligible receiver, the TD would not have counted, and Dallas would have gotten a penalty. Usually when a player runs out of bounds, the nearest official will throw his hat to indicate this and then throw a flag if that player touches the ball first.

  2. The rule is if a player goes out of bounds, they just can't be the first person to touch the ball.
Teams only have one kicker on their roster so they don't have a choice but to use him to kick.

  3. You’re right about hitting the QB once he’s out of the pocket, but Dak is a BIG dude for a QB. He was listed at 6’2 and 240 pounds at some point. I think this year he lost a little bit of weight but that’s still basically like trying to tackle a small linebacker.

Also, as a cowboys fan let me tell you, before this game, we had NEVER beaten Tom Brady. I believe he was 7-0 against us in his career so you bet we weren’t going to take it easy on him.

  4. As a Falcons fan (unfortunately) I can say the entire NFC South division was complete garbage this year. All the teams (New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons) struggled to try to even win 50% of their games.

  5. The Dallas Cowboys kicker is much, much, better than the ones they had.He won the job.The person he beat out was even worse.Number 19 just had an off night. He was aiming the ball, instead of just kicking.Normally, most teams have on the team a long distance field goal kicker, and a short distance kicker.Number 19 is both for the Cowboys. The rosters is set for the NFL playoffs,no team can't go get another player. They can bring a player up from the practice squad to play.Only after the season is officially over which is NOT after the Super Bowl.Yes! the NFL business part is still going on,so in that way the 2022 season is not over until the 1st week,or 2nd week in March. Then in American 🏈it is known as free agency. Meaning players are free to sign with any of the 32 teams they want.Only If his contract is up.,or the owner of the team re-signs him for 3, 4,or more years depending on the money.Players can be traded for draft picks either in the April draft of that year,or years later for players. The team with the most losses gets to pick first. In the April 2022 NFL Draft that would be the Chicago Bears. They have a quarterback it's Georgia transfer and former Ohio State QB Justin Fields(Yes he was at Georgia before leaving),so thier NEED is Wide Receiver help.Maybe Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Jalen Hyatt.(said like HI- ETT) Go back and watch his game against Alabama. You did a reaction to this great game.#11 for Tennessee was getting a lot of touchdowns in that game.He could go too the Bears,Not saying he will, but he's one of the Top receivers in the draft.

  6. You're right to be hard on the kicker. He'd tell you he agrees with you. PATs in the NFL are further back than in college so they're not really chip shots, BUT, at this level, they're still easy makes. Missing one is bad enough. To miss four in one game and IN A ROW?! Unheard of.

  7. Definitely not a Cowboys fan, I'm probably the most hated man where I live in Texas, when I wear my Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys! But I will always give a team their props that dominates in a game, so my hats off to Dallas. Titans need to bring them back to reality with a win! The team coordination won this game, ok so the kicker botched the extra points.

  8. A lot of times kickers missing can be a problem with holder, it's not the same thing as kicking off a tee or a soccer ball on the ground. This kicker was definitely in some kind of mental funk, 4 misses in a row is unheard of. But it's not necessarily always the kicker's fault, if the hold isn't in the right spot or it's a bad snap it can throw off the timing. They usually make it look easy but there's a lot of things that can go wrong to cause a miss.

  9. Statistically cowboys were favorites. Historically and also by the general public Cowboys weren't favorites as well. Brady is 7-0 against cowboys in the regular season. Now hes 7-1 all time and 0-1 in the playoffs against them of which this might be his last football game if he retires this off season.

  10. If a player. Steps out of bounds he can't be the 1st person to touch the ball once he's back inbounds if u look close be for he caught the ball the defender's hands touch the ball before he caught it

  11. Teams only carry one kicker. Even with the large rosters they are so specialized that any player that won't play unless someone gets hurt is rare. Every team has a backup QB because the position is so important. Kickers and punters on the other hand you would just have the other guy play if one is hurt or playing this bad. Sometimes you get lucky and have someone on the team that can kick/punt but that would be a serious desperation move. More likely you would just stop kicking the ball.

  12. Maher missed three all season and is the only kicker in league history with three 60+ yard field goals. He had money on this game…. missing FOUR IN A ROW AND IN A PLAYOFF GAME..

  13. From Dallas here. Yeah our kicker had an awful night. It was very unorthodox of him. It literally shocked and embarrassed the hell out of everyone how bad he kicked Monday night. 14:28 yeah that's the owners box. Jerry Jones is the owner of the cowbows. He took over in the early 90s and won 3 Superbowls. He's bn there ever since but he's stuck in the "glory days of the 90s. Dallas hasnt won the Superbowl since and Monday night was their first road playoff win in 30 years.

  14. To answer your question, they were commenting that they werent sure if he had stepped out of bounds for that TD catch. They were talking about the back of the end zone. The rule is, if you step out of bounds then step back in, you are ineligible to catch the ball, except if a defender touches it before you when you have stepped back in.

Tom Brady has not retired, he hasnt made that decision yet, he has played his last game for Tampa Bay he has said

  15. The guy they keep showing after Dallas scores is the owner Jerry Jones, a lizard wearing human skin. Jones will do anything to stay in the news because he is nourished by attention the way normal people require food and water to survive. Any Cowboys game includes at least a dozen shots of Jerry slowly deteriorating in the booth as he awkwardly high-fives his sycophants.

  16. A running QB is fair game outside of the pocket or beyond the line of scrimmage. The QB is treated like any other runner and the usual rules apply with regard to unnecessary roughness penalties.

Michael Gallup may have stepped out of bounds in the end zone, but the defending player tipped the ball before the catch making Gallup again an eligible receiver after establishing himself back inside the boundary of the end zone.

That was the owner Jerry Jones and his family.

  17. Yeah are correct once a QB goes outside the Tackles or start running he is now a running back unless he slides you can not hit him. he gave himself up.
And an offensive player can not go out of bounds and be the once player to touch the ball. On the Gallip play he did go out of bounds BUT the defender touched the ball before gallip caught the ball. making it a good catch.
