  1. Such a shame really, as if all BA’s exec club issues aren’t enough, they have old, tatty planes with lots of breakages, the worst business class yingyang in modern times with a slow refurb programme for the 787 and A380. I’ve booked Virgin flights this year as I’ve had enough of them

  2. You make a good point at 911HRW

The old tatty aircraft (and to be fair there are only a few of those, largely at Gatwick) and slow Club Suite refurbishment program coupled with catering problems could be overlooked because the British Airways executive club created a value proposition which meant a mediocre airline was worth flying because the long-term benefits were good; take away those benefits (priority check-in, Lounge access, free flowing champagne and generous Avios earning opportunities) and what you have is an under performing customer experience which is way behind the Middle Eastern carriers and which isn’t even keeping up with the legacy US carriers.
The website is still extremely slow and glitchy,, despite the upgrades which were meant to happen this month and seemed to have been reversed. I always get the old original system rather than the new homepage and the login problems persist. It’s really really very hard to actually buy a ticket on this airline, and if they can’t get that right, the downstream issues are completely unacceptable for anyone who isn’t familiar with the way things are done by British Airways.

  3. When ordering a new aircraft, you know it’s going to be years before you receive so why hasn’t British Airways ordered aircraft to replace the B777 Gatwick . fleet I think the airbus A350/9 would be a good replacement.
