Hong Kong citizens used to be eligible to full U.K. residency and passport. Shortly prior to H.K.'s return to its rightful mother country U.K. passed a law, depriving H.K. people of these rights. "BNO" is a very apt term. British ? NO !

I live in Australia. Several decades ago, the Vietnamese boat people migrated in large numbers to Oz. They were mostly in the upper third of IQ in their population, and within two years of living in Australia, generated their economic miracle, and contributed greatly to the betterment of the Australian economy. I predict the UK Hong Kongers will do something similar for the UK, so they are a blessing.
