The Chinese can't design anything on their own. Everything they have is , well, basically a cheap Chinese knock off. They steal everyone elses designs, the US, the Russians, they don't care. So right now they are coping what the US already has. Always going to be one step behind.
What most people fail to realize is that a drone operated by a person has to communicate through satellites. This adds delays both ways. Then you have the delay of human reaction time. AI has been the goal with drones for at least 20 years.

Leap flogging is not a real advancement, because during the process they loose a lot of vital training and experience. In the military world experience and training is an advantage. Doesn't guarantee victory, but definitely gives you a head start.
Yet despite the fact that China has so many cameras, millions of people suddenly go missing off the street every year. It's like they know the exact spots where the cameras don't cover… On a unrelated note, if you ever need a replacement organ, China got you covered. If you paid enough you can get a transplant within 24 hours.

China has done very little innovating but they've stolen massive amounts of technology from Western countries. People don't seem to understand that China does a lot of assembly work but they don't contribute much to advanced tech development. Everytime I've researched their so-called advanced tech, it's based on stolen data or complete propaganda/BS. China is a paper tiger.
