  1. As of the morning of January 13, per Cal Fire:
Palisades Fire 14% contained. Eaton Fire 33% contained. Hurst Fire 95% contained. Wildfires like these, depending on terrain, conditions, etc., can last weeks before 100% CONTAINED (meaning fully encircled) … And then they still have to be fully extinguished!

  2. The problem for many people living in this area is that insurance companies have been pulling out of the area over the last years and months. The risks have become too high for companies to insure people. State Farm, I think pulled out of the area last spring. When I say pulled out, I mean, they stopped writing new policies and renewing existing ones. What that means is that many people can’t find a place to purchase insurance from and they’re left only with extremely expensive alternatives.

  3. The area thats beem burned is bigger than the area of Paris France. 40,000 acres and growing. Prayers for California. 1 of the 8 fires has been 100% contained. The others have not been or is less than 15% contained. Last I heard was it was 11% contained. It will be a many more days until its all been 100% contained.

  4. The main insurance company "State Farm" canceled everyone's insurance policy who had insurance with them a month or two before the fires broke out. They somehow knew well in advance that something was coming…I wonder how? 🤨🤔🧐 What's funny (Not haha funny, strange funny) State Farm's slogan is "Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is there!"

  5. Aftermath? This fire isnt even halfway done, its gonna be burning for months at the rate its spreading and the rate (or lack there of) they are controlling it, its hard to fight a fire when the whole city it out of water.

  6. No doubt this year has gotten off to a bad start. These wildfires are so devastating, it looks like aftermath of the nuked Hiroshima. I'm overwhelmed by the large number of human deaths. I'm even more so about the by the undocumented number of animal deaths. The wildlife, the was trying to escape the fire. The pets, farm animals & livestock, that couldn't escape the fire. This is going take year or decades to come back to some sort of normality. My thought & prayers to all those effected by this disaster.

    PLEASE DON"T BE A DICK & LOOT OR DON'T B&E.

  7. Yes Malibu is gone . Along the water there are normally very impressive houses and now you have zero problems seeing the Pacific Ocean well once the smoke clear but yeah it sucks because we lost everything. My only advantage was I rented, but it was the memories inside my home that my son and I have shared for 19 years now. I’m in the sunset fire. Live right around the corner off Hollywood Boulevard

  8. Oh, the guy that drove his truck through the crowd… that was in New Orleans, Louisiana at like 3 AM when people are still out on the street in the French quarters partying. And then literally somebody blows himself up in a cyber truck in front of Trump’s building! All of these people are jumpers, which makes it weird and ironic when they blame us for somebody with a MAGA with a terrorist flag on their truck, trying to hit anybody and everybody and then shoot some cops? Yeah you’re def dying! Plus our fun hurricanes! And I’m here in DC quite a bit and we just got the blizzard here! So yeah good times! The biggest nightmare is gonna come January 20th WITHOUT A DOUBT!

  9. Oh no, they’re still going and the winds are gonna pick up even stronger. Oh, I’ve got worse than looting. People are stealing fireman jackets, and going into houses, buildings n business so it looks like the fire department are in there and just taking what they want from the houses n businesses that have not been hit yet.

  10. I live in LA. My area luckily just lost power and it was restored for now. But I know people whose place burned to the ground. Also just got an emergency alerts about the wind picking up again and is expected to be strong through Thursday

  11. California is literally on fire every year this isn't a surprise Kabir it's a lack of preparation issue and also some dumb people in charge look up the governor asking people for donations then to find out it leads to his campaign Gavin Newsome needs to be taken out of office

  12. And it's still going on! I believe two have been fully contained but the rest aren't even in that far into the double digits of being contained (last I knew) And high winds will be starting tonight back up again :/ now Ventura has been hit
