This was post Vietnam after the draft ended and the first “all volunteer army”
This was during the relative peace and economic prosperity of the 1980s and 1990s. It’s almost presented like a video game.
But after that 20 year adventure into Iraq this wouldn’t sell today.
God bless any man or woman who has ever served in any branch of the U.S. military!!

Both of my brothers were in the military when I tried to join. My father, a Navy veteran (seebees) forbid me to join. “I will not allow all of your mothers’ sons to be in the military at the same time.” 4 months later, both of my brothers got deployed to combat (Desert Storm).
I joined the Army during this period. I would highly recommend today.

After trying other things for that last couple of decades the US Army actually broughtt back the Be All that you can be slogan this year in hopes of helping there recruiting goals.
When I enlisted in 1979 down in Dallas the army was the army, you trained to defend your country. Today's army is struggling because they're worried more about "critical race theory", gender pronouns, who wants to go through that B.S.! I was U.S. Army Signal Corps,. At this point, I wouldn't encourage anyone I know to join at this point in time, our military has been weakened by that idiot sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in D.C..
When i was a junior, we had a senior girl who signed up for the Army. They sent a representative to our school to have her sign her enlistment forms in front of the whole school and parents. This was 2002-03, so patriotism was running high! Everyone stood to applaud her when she signed! I hope she made it through safely.

These commercials certainly had an effect on my choice for serving 27 years. I was a kid when these commercials came out but had an impact on my choice. We did “Do more before 9 am than most people do all day!” I love my service and branch!!!
Do the Marines commercials.
Aim high…. don't join the Air Force.
I'll never forget the "Be All That You Can Be" commercials on TV from the 1990s to 2000s. I can't forget the song.
Ok you just made me feel really old by calling the 80's vintage.
Kabir, Political decisions by the political leadership makes or breaks enlistment/retainment quotas especially with the current leadership decisions coming out of the White House and the Pentagon, it's a sad situation. Retired US Army

I don't know of a single soldier or civilian that likes the new woke Army/Military recruitment commercials in the past few years. Even the woke people don't like them because of how transparent and cringy the pandering is.
At the same time the Military recruitment numbers have been hitting "historic" lows, shortage of 25% in 2022 and getting worse. Not saying the new woke recruitment campaign is the why, theres many reasons but the new commercials definitely played a role, at the very least aren't helping.

Most of my family has served. We have army vets, Marines , Navy and air Force. I went Navy and our commercial was "accelerate your life" . Well, I don't actively encourage my oldest son i fully support his want to join the Marines and even offred to sign him up for tne sea cadets so he will be better prepared. Right now our only worry is he may end up being too tall. He is tracking to be 6'9" when he stops growing he's already 6'2 at 15. I kinda feel that service to the nation in someway should be part of our civic duty, if you can't do military, do volunteer EMS or firefighter service for a couple years. I think you appreciate your country and your rights more when you understand the concept of scarificeing for your fellow man.
