  1. America needs public transportation all over the country. United States has the worst public transportation in the world. We need to free our cities from cars. We need tramways high speed trends everywhere. Electric busses every 10 minute. Enough of highways and bridges and cars.

  2. Hopefully this train connects to Ft Lauderdale airport or even West Palm Beach airport. That would be great for any sort of airline layovers or for travelers who need to go further south or north, but the flight does not.

  3. It runs on diesel what’s the point? Like if you want to have faster journeys start adding the pantographs. High speed means electric nothing else and no not batteries good old wires!!!!!

  4. Finally! Have family in Miami that I visit often, having this will make the travel easier. Miami is far enough where driving is annoying but flying to not sensible and is expensive.

  5. Sadly its not the Future, its the PAST for MOST developed countries BUT the US. Next YEAR are you serious.. They should be in TAMPA by now. Thanks Rick Scott for NOTHING.

  6. This is cool but they need to make them bullet trains if they want this to be successful in the long run, 3 hours for Orlando to Miami is too long.

  7. I'm in the West of Florida but it would still be more convenient for me to take a car to WPB and ride the train the rest of the way. Driving to Orlando is always a disaster unless I'm willing to drive through the night and get there at like 4AM or something.

  8. While it's not really all that high speed, it's still a welcome addition to Florida's options for transit. I live in Orlando and will definitely be taking this train to Miami when it opens for a weekend. I do wish they would remove the at-grade crossings and increase the speed but in the US I'll take what I can get as far as passenger rails go.

  9. Great that the news anchors were championing rail at the end by suggesting "I'll do anything other than drive". Of course there's the whole issue after going from A to B, to finally C in so many American cities but I'll take it for now.
