US Immigration
No Immigrant Visa processing in 70 plus countries.
When applying for a greencard from outside the United States, you must travel to the nearest consulate for an interview before your visa is approved. But what happens when there is no U.S. Visa processing in your home country, in some cases there is no consulates too. According to a new report from Cato Institute, the U.S. offers no immigrant visa processing in 67 countries.
Roughly 720 million people live in countries without immigrant visa processing.
That means applicants in those countries have to travel long distances to attend a consular interview, which can be costly and time-consuming. Over the past decade, the U.S. issued over 400,000 visas to people from these countries. which include Mozambique, Norway, Iraq, and Venezuela.
No Consulates or Embassies in 24 Countries.
Yes! you heard it right. In 24 countries, the U.S. simply has no consulate or embassy. The largest countries in this group are North Korea and the State of Palestine, followed by island nations and small states. In 12 countries, including Iran, Ukraine, and Russia, the U.S. has permanently and in some cases indefinitely closed its consulates.
Another 28 countries has consulates, but it only processes nonimmigrant visas. The report suggests that the U.S. offer virtual interviews and allow immigrant visa applicants to interview at embassies and consulates that only process nonimmigrant visas

Documentarily Qualified since September 2022. Waiting for an interview, US embassy in Bogota Colombia seems to be the slowest of all.
I have been trying since 2020 to bring my wife here and you people keep giving me the runaround and keep asking for the same thing over and over and when I give it to you you wait for three or four months before you get back with me and ask me for the same thing again it’s a joke I’m not wasting my time anymore I’m just gonna go back home

A country that preaches freedom but restricts foreigners from traveling freely into its country. Visa requirements should have been abolished if we want a more united world. Its sucks to wait months just to go traveling as a tourist. Its contradictory to the philosophy of US. Abolishing this could have solved the backlog problem, but US beauracracy likes to make things complicated.
Long wait for immigrant visa interviews is a real pain for us. My son and his daughters have been waiting for more than two yrs now since they were approved for interview.
