Florida Gators Legends to the Rescue: Contingency Plans for Life After Billy Napier

GatorBait has learned Spurrier and Meyer, while supporting Napier and his current program, have indicated a willingness to do “anything to help” — including working in an advisory capacity if and when called upon during the transition.

Standing at the podium for his Wednesday night midweek press conference, Billy Napier looked nothing like a football coach under siege. He answered questions as he normally does in an low, unemotional voice and while he spoke a lot of words, he really didn’t say much at all.

It has been this way since he arrived from Louisiana in December of 2021. Win or lose, play well or badly, Napier taps the fingers on his left hand against the podium rarely offering a glimpse of what’s going on inside. Judging by Florida’s losses to Miami and Texas A&M, Napier’s……..click the link below to read the rest of Franz Beard’s article👇👇👇

  1. What coach wants to come to a program and have two bosses, the A.D. and the general manager looking over the shoulders, screw that….. Kiffin would give the gators a finger. I’m the fucking general manager he would say and the coach go scratch and pound sand.

  2. This is a for profit business we’re talking about. I’ve been dying to see Urban in a PR type role where he can do what he does best. Talk and sell. He’ll assure everyone the program is still elite and we’re on our way back. His presence alone says that. He can convince recruits (and their families), portal players of value, boosters and ESPN that Florida is on the fast track to being a consistent playoff team. Then once Kiffin is hired he can act as a buffer between Kiffin and the administration , ensuring LKs autonomy and happiness.

  3. Halftime thoughts today. Our defense is horrific. Real teams are going to put up 70. In the first half. Need to remove everyone responsible for this soft, slow, weak ass non tackling team. So many soft players out there. Unwatchable. Hoping we get the win, but unable to stomach watching that defense.

  4. GM idea is not a good one. Only one person or one entity is in charge. Napier has players loafing, no accountability, and the next week he makes them a team captain. Players don't respect that. That's toxic for the program. He has to go. If you bring in a GM, you take down his respectability even more. Fire him now. Put someone in charge. Throw the bank at a legend that steps in now, or an interim who is a legend and can set things up for another hire like Lane or someone else. Fuchs has to go and Stricklin too. This is a state university that is floundering under poor leadership and absent leadership. Gov DeSantis should step in and accelerate all of these moves, especially univ pres.

  5. Scott Stricklin had a chance to hire Lane Kiffin. Scott Stricklin allowed his personal feelings to overshadow what was best for UF. How can the UF Fans ever trust him again. Fire Scott Stricklin hire a Gator to be the AD.

  6. Wait a minute. Who cares about the win yesterday. If they win….their the 2nd worst team in the SEC. If they lost they would be 16. UF finished 3-9. Don't forget that Sunbelt Billy CANNOT COACH. Get Chucky or Lane now. Fix the program NOW. My GOD. It is the best place to play.
