  1. You know what I would love? A whole book with just Lorne Michaels' comments about sketches through the years. Just a description of the sketch and then "You know the problem with that sketch… it doesn't have one joke" I would take a full book of all the comments he's made about sketches LMAO

  2. Its not "Lonely Island" but "Mokiki" was always one of my favorite "Shorts" on SNL.
I don't know why, but "Mokiki does the sloppy swish" is probably my favorite skit or sketch with Tarren Killim.

  3. Huge fan of Mike, I have watched the Jay-Z story more times than I care to remember! Sad Mouse is so sweet!
I also love the Chicago Rats dressing room montage sketch with Tim Robinson, John Solomon and Andy Bryant – so so funny! Mike has a way of reacting that is so subtle but so spot on – it never feels like parody! 😂❤

  4. As someone who knows their way around ProTools, I think it’s worth noting how incredibly flexible and margin-heavy a vocal track can be…being so bad that it exceeds the engineer’s capacity to correct is almost impressive.

  5. Those underground music festival videos are hilarious.
I always wondered who came up with that idea.
It makes sense that it was O'Brien (from Chicago), ICP was big in the Midwest.
I still have friends who are juggalos.
I went to one of those gatherings once.
    It was enough for me.
My buddy goes there every year still and he's about 40!!

  6. Please please please for the love of god…please do a show on “Property of the Queen”…I am dying to see this instead of a bootlegged Chinese equivalent or in full sanctioned video instead of small clandestine snippets…

  7. not gonna lie it really bugged me (wait for it) that you all did NOT TALK ABOUT THE SKIT WHERE YOU INTERVIEW BUGS AROUND THE CITY … like having Josh Hutcherson ask a cockroach where it was going and them screaming IM GOING TO THE SUPERMARKET is peak comedy

  8. Question re: the year-long bit of dressing younger…did Mike also start using (or inventing) slang from the younger generation, or was it mostly just a visual gag? Either way…fucking hilarious.

Also, I never realized Jorma did the voiceover on the under-underground records festival shorts. I was obsessed with those. Hard to pick a favorite fake band name. Maybe a tie between GUNT and MRS. POTATO DICK. RIP Ass Dan. 🙁

Loved the episode. Wasn't expecting the pod to go beyond stuff that is directly TLI+Seth, and getting insight on all of these awesome bits and Mike O'Brien's work more broadly was dope.

  9. This podcast is going to take 10 years to finish at this rate. We're on episode 44 and the furthest we've gotten is to "The Best Look in the World" digital short which was still pretty early on. But I'm all in for the 10 year podcast run
