Brazil GP Race Reflection – Checo’s Resurgence, Aston Martin Show, Setback For Mercedes?! | EP 48

Welcome to the latest episode of Track Limits Podcast, where Henny, Feven, and Swish share their thoughts on the recently concluded Brazilian Grand Prix.

This marks the final sprint race weekend on the calendar, and it certainly lived up to the expectations. Red Bull showed they had learned from past mistakes, concentrating their efforts on a long-run plan during FP1. In contrast, Mercedes struggled to find the right car setup, battling issues ranging from high drag to tire degradation and overheating. It was a weekend Mercedes would rather put behind them, with disappointing results in the sprint race, a P8 finish for Lewis Hamilton, and a DNF for George Russell.

Following a challenging DNF in his home Grand Prix, Sergio Perez returned with a singular focus: to maximize the weekend and move closer to securing P2 in the drivers’ championship. With a podium finish in the sprint race and a thrilling last-lap showdown with Fernando Alonso for P3, it appears that Perez has regained his confidence in the Red Bull car.

Is Charles Leclerc the unluckiest driver of the year? That’s up for debate. His DNF during the formation lap sums up a year that hasn’t gone as planned for both Charles and Ferrari. Meanwhile, Lando Norris delivered another impressive performance, moving from P6 to P2 with a strong start and excellent tire management. On the other hand, Oscar Piastri endured damage right from the race’s outset and spent most of his time at the back of the grid.

Looking ahead, in just two weeks, we have one of the most highly anticipated races on the calendar: the Las Vegas Grand Prix. For many, this race, set under the vibrant lights of the Vegas Strip, is a cause for celebration. However, for some drivers, it’s seen more as a show than a traditional race. The track layout will favour teams with strong straight-line speed, and outfits like Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull will strive to maximize their car’s performance on this unique circuit.

  1. The old house is still standing
Though the paint is cracked and dry
And there's that old oak tree that I used to play on
Down the lane, I walk with my sweet Mary
Hair of gold and lips like cherries
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home

This Tom Jones song got a total revival thanks to Max.
I can totally see Tom sing this song for Max in Vegas.

  2. Danny Ric was 3rd-4th fastest driver in the race. Hit and damaged by flying tyre at the start. He and Piastri not only re-started from the pits but 1 lap down. Race ruined before first corner, but performance was good.
