'Boy racer' hit speeds of up to 100mph before killing young footballer



A ‘boy racer’ who reached speeds of almost 100mph at an unauthorised car meet later struck and killed a budding young footballer from Stockport, causing him to be thrown 10ft into the air.

Mason Hodgson, 23 was driving his black Audi S3 at the unregulated event in Warrington, Cheshire, on April 10 2022 when he mowed down former England Schoolboys player Sam Harding as he stepped into the road.

After an investigation, Hodgson was subsequently charged with causing death by dangerous driving. The 23-year-old of Glen Road, Morley, had earlier pleaded guilty to the offence.

He appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, December 19, where he was sentenced to eight years in prison. As well as his custodial sentence, he was also banned from driving for 10 years and 4 months.

  2. Absolute clown man nothing impressive about speeding literally anyone who drives could drive at speed if they chose too. Men believe it shows skills and big balls but its actually the opposite…
