  3. These would be the same Chagos Islands that James Cleverly, current front runner for the Conservative leadership, began negotiations over while foreign secretary, yes? The Tories on this thread would do well to spare us the pearl clutching on this.

  4. Itโ€™s disheartening to see the Chagos Islands being given away and turning our back on the islanders who wish to remain with Britain. Xi Jinping is behind all of this manipulating Mauritius with money and investment to destabilise Britains overseas territories and destroy the commonwealth. Heโ€™s already succeeded with Barbados and his intentions to destroy Britains connections with its commonwealth is because he doesnโ€™t want to see the commonwealth rise up again and be turned into a possible trading bloc, federation or alliance that would undoubtedly rival China and offer a counter balance to American power across the globe. #canzuk

  5. Labour obviously moved pretty quickly to sort this out and get the US onside; clearly no Conservative govt would have agreed this! What's that you say – didnt the previous govt do almost all the leg work on this. But thats a sad truth and therefore nor true in Boris's view.
