  1. Man. I learned bodywork at a family member's pro shop. I was pretty good, but it is work. I put about 300 hours into my '70 Buick for bodywork, when it came out of the paint booth it was like a new car but 300 hours is a lonnnngggg time when it's not a 9-5 gig and I wouldn't do it again. Two or three hours after work for months, plus 10 hour days every weekend. There's a fine line between F-U-N and J-O-B that got crossed waayyyyy too much in my case.

  2. Did you weigh all the metal you removed? would be interesting. I had a boss that was modifying a 57 ford 300 NHRA record holder from the 50's with all the original records painted on the side, it originally ran a 312 Y block, maybe with a paxton type blower, It was all original and sitting for sale behind a dinner in the early 80's, he bought it and front half the car for a 460, then proceeded to drill holes everywhere, he went crazy, when he got to 75 pounds in holes, the car was ruined, and went to the crusher, It was so sad.

  3. I like the white paint in the engine compartment. A friend of mine had a 1939 Ford gasser back in the 60's (the golden age of gassers) and he painted under the hood, inner fender wells and the firewall all white. Sure makes for vidibility in low light conditions. Very sensible, utilitarian and to me it looks like a race vehicle.
